Visited on 8/5/2023- My party had possibly 15+ seats so we had to wait. Not the issue! My complaint is that my tablemates and I waited for over an 1hr+ to be served our food and when asked to speak with the dining manger (pacsu, I am sure I am butchering his name) arrived at my table, he had this visible display through body language of " what do you want?" I began explain to him that we ordered our food way before the rest of my party and the other guests that came and went and we still had not received our food. I politely apologize to him because I was speaking in a very loud tone but was watching his demeanor and it was saying " I do not care but I will listen because this is part of my job!" other around us saw and stated that they were observing the conversation he and I were having and stated they saw how he was not interested in assisting me. My wife is a diabetic and because of the delay in our food could have caused grave issues because of this type of management. He stated he was going to look into the delay and would see what he could do on our bill. The manager left and after 20-25 minutes we received our bill, nothing was adjusted like he had stated earlier. The manager returned to our table to check in on us and was only concerned about "how did everything taste?" not the fact the we waited over 1+ hrs. to get our food and at that time most of my party requested to go containers because they just wanted to hurry and leave your establishment. At the end of it all, we were compensated a few measly dollars off of a bill for 2 that was $110-112.00 before the tip. And that discount varied for the other patrons at my table. Your server Hannah was awesome and she continued to check in on us while the delay occurred and your manager attempted to place the blame on her and not where it really belong. WE WILL NEVER, EVER VISIT, NOR WILL I RECCOMEND YOUR ESTABLISHMENT TO ANYONE I KNOW AND ASSOCIATE WITH all walks of people and they love to eat and celebrate various events. This incident has left a very bad taste and a desire to not recommend your establishment to no one! That manger needs to be trained or you will continue to get reviews...

From the moment we arrived, the ambiance of 1936 captivated us with its charming blend of rustic and nautical decor, creating a cozy yet elegant vibe that's perfect for both casual gatherings and romantic evenings.
Our visit was made even more memorable by Jenna, the manager, who attended to us with exceptional care and professionalism. Her attention to detail, knowledge of the menu, and genuine warmth added a personal touch to our experience, making us feel welcomed and valued. Jenna's recommendations were spot on, guiding us through an impressive selection of drinks and specialty cocktails that were both innovative and delicious. Each beverage was crafted to perfection, showcasing a blend of quality ingredients and mixology expertise that 1936 takes pride in.
The food menu, although we only sampled a few dishes, was equally impressive, featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients that pay homage to Maryland's rich culinary traditions. The dishes were beautifully presented, and each bite was a testament to the chef's skill and creativity.
What sets 1936 apart is not just its stunning waterfront location or its delightful menu but the impeccable service led by Jenna. Her ability to make guests feel at home while providing a top-notch dining experience is a rarity. Read moreI really wanted to like this place, but I can honestly say I won't be returning. The staff is friendly and our server (Baylee) was kind and pleasant. We ordered the crabby fries, fried green tomatoes and we both got the Uncle Gordon's chopped steak. The fries tasted ok, but were overly salty and my daughter found a piece of plastic in them. The fried green tomatoes had no seasoning. They didn't taste like the breading or tomatoes themselves even had salt on them. Just really bland other than the toppings. The chopped steak was awful! It took almost 30 mins to get it in the first place. The description says, "Fresh ground beef steak simmered in a savory sweet onion gravy over mashed potatoes and green of the day", which clearly was a lie considering the 2 tiny beef patties were very dry/overcooked and not simmered in gravy like the menu description states. And the mashed potatoes were bland and tasted old. Also, the green beans had no seasoning whatsoever and tasted like the pan they were cooked in. You know how a pan smells when it gets too hot?.....well that's how the green beans tasted and they were undercooked. The best part was the onion gravy, which they don't give u enough of for the mound of potatoes they serve with the patties. Baylee was the best part of the whole experience other than her standing over in the host station talking while we were waiting on our check and again when we were ready to pay. All-in-all it was WAY overpriced for what you get, and what we got was very disappointing. Oh and let's not forget that we still paid full price for everything, even with my daughter finding plastic in her food and me not liking my meal. My daughter literally waited til we got home to complain about how nasty the food was because she said she "didn't want to cause a scene" lol. So again......I will not...
