I've never written a poor review for a company because I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and assume positive intention. However, there comes a point where something must be said to warn other people. I worked with Allyson Hohman with Dream Town and things started off really great - she suggested another unit to me during our first tour, and I was really excited about it. Things went downhill from there.
Allyson was almost 45 minutes late to that second showing that we had, which I tried to be understanding about because mistakes in scheduling happen. But, during the tour, Allyson was short and rude about some questions I asked. I tried to brush it off, but the rudeness continued over email with clarification questions I'd ask. When signing a legal document like a lease, it's imperative that all of the information in the lease is correct, and Allyson acted like I could not be more annoying when I pointed out the changes that needed to be made (even the dates of the lease were wildly incorrect - basic stuff that should have been caught if she had even briefly reviewed the document before she sent it to me). Beyond rudeness, Allyson gave me blatantly incorrect information - telling me that there was a dishwasher in the unit that did not and does not have one (I live here now, it's not like they installed one in between the tour and me signing the lease), and was insistent when I pointed this out that I was incorrect, and that there was, in fact, a dishwasher. She told me that cable and wifi was bundled and included in a flat fee, saying this "has been said a few times." As I was in the process of setting up my wifi after moving in, low and behold, the building and landlord said that is incorrect and I now have have to pay out of pocket on top of the fee I pay for cable. She was rude, incompetent, misinformed, and incapable. I understand real estate agents have a job and not everyone is going to be a cup of sunshine, but when the incompetence and misinformation is resulting in me paying extra money, it's unacceptable. And even after she kicked my questions over to another agent, they never sent my lease to the new building until I followed back up with them because the building had no idea a move was happening into my unit.
This has wasted so much of my time and energy. I will never ever recommend Dream Town to anyone. It's just not worth the stress and hassle that they created for me. And it has now not just been limited to the leasing process, but the incompetency is bleeding into my tenancy in the building. Allyson Hohman and Noam Osher (who she referred me to when she was providing incorrect information and who she told me to reach out to when I brought my concerns about wifi up to her) have been unresponsive regarding the mistakes they have made and the money they have cost me. I'd give zero stars if I could. Moving is already a stressful process, so save yourself the added stress and...
Read moreLisa Sanders was the selling agent for a house my wife and I went to look at in the Norwood Park area of Chicago a few weeks back and she couldn't have been any more rude and unprofessional. Not an agent I would want representing my company or trying to sell my house.
We walked up to the house with our agent and she was sitting on the front steps and did not say hello or introduce herself. She stood up and mentioned something about putting the dog up and went inside. We asked our agent if that was the owner and that is when we found out it was Lisa Sanders the selling agent from Dreamtown Realty.
She came back outside and informed us to "not open the basement door" Still without a hello or introduction as to who she is. My first reaction with that statement was that we couldn't go into the basement so that is what I asked her. She then looked at me with a very condescending annoyed look and replied "thats not what I said, what I said was don't open the basement door and go to the backyard." My wife corrected and stated that is not what she said.
She then walked away and we did not see her the rest of the time until we left. No hello, goodbye, thanks for viewing, let me know if you have any questions. Nothing. Talk about unprofessional.
I don't know what her issue was but whatever it was gives her no right to act the way she did.
I actually wrote a review about this incident on Yelp already and apparently Lisa Sanders or Dreamtown contacted Yelp to have it removed today. The email stated that it was removed because "Dreamtown was not representing me in a transaction". True, Dreamtown was not representing me but I never said they were nor should it matter. That is not in violation of yelps criteria by any means.
Lisa Sanders was representing herself as well as Dreamtown's big sign that was in front of the house we were looking at.
I also contacted Dreamtown by phone and was transferred to Rebecca who took down my complaint. I was given no apology nor any sign of concern as to how an agent is treating a potential buyer so rudely and unprofessional.
Lisa actually contacted my agent to ask if I could take the review down also. Didn't bother to try and contact me to apologize for her actions and unprofessionalism. All her and apparently Dreamtown are concerned with are not having my honest review of my experience with Dreamtown and their agent on Yelp.
Its a shame that we had that experience with Lisa Sanders and Dreamtowns lack of concern with the situation because we were really interested in the home. Due to the lack of concern for how a potential buyer is treated I will never deal with her or the...
Read moreChris Vasilakopoulos was terrible. I worked with Chris in the past and while he is not very knowledgeable, he seemed honest. Chris put in little effort on our last deal. Chris asked me to show my condo on one occasion because he was busy! I had a bad feeling about the last buye. I made my feelings clear on multiple texts and phone calls and I wanted to put the unit back on the market, but Chris kept telling me that we were under contract and everything was moving as it should. On two occasions, the buyer tried to extend the contract and I went to Chris explaining my concerns and asked multiple times, whether they had fulfilled their obligations along the process. Chris lied about collecting an earnest deposit (which nullifies a contract) and turned away a higher offer from another buyer, which I learned of later. Once an earnest deposit is not paid, the contract can be voided, and with all of my concerns, Chris had a moral and legal obligation to inform me of issues and other offers. I asked several times about whether the deposit was paid and was lied to for weeks. The buyer tried changing the closing date multiple times up until the last few days of the contract. It was a disaster, as I live out of state and had to leave valuable personal belongings in the condo, because it would’ve cost more to get a moving truck last minute, since the closing date was finalized one day before closing. Chris is either lazy, incompetent or dishonest. Either way, I lost thousands on the deal in personal belongings left behind and another offer that was confirmed to me by another agent. I spoke with a manager from Dream Town and we discussed the issues, but the manager never followed up on any of these issues. Chris’s actions were unethical and illegal. I highly recommend avoiding this agent and...
