The Patio at Cafe Brauer — Restaurant in Chicago

WORST experience ever. They happen to have their doors locked, making you come through the patio area to "be seated." Did not know that and we came through the main doors and was shown were to be seated and the guy mentioned something about locking their doors so people can't use their restrooms if they are going to the zoo. Anyways, we sit down and waited to be served or even observed at the least and no one came for well over 10min. When I got up to get menus and ask who the server was, the lady said "oh, we were wondering what you all were doing." 😒 really, sitting down at a table...at a resturant and they wondered what we were doing. (THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING!) so a waiter was supposed to make it over to the table after I spoke with that lady, I then had to get up again and go to the hostess to get a menu and ask for our waiter. Finally, a ladt comes by and takes our order (not our actual waiter). We asked to move tables after a couple of people left, since it was super hot and we were at a table under an umbrella that really didn't cover much. After waiting a long time, our food came out by other waiters and what I assume to be a manager. My food was overcooked and I just didn't care to get up again to get another waiter, so I didn't/couldn't mention it to anyone, because no one ever came back around. I had to flag a waiter down and ask for a refill and the check. Then as another lady walked by, I had to ask her who our waiter even was. By this this time, I had stopped this lady at least 4 different times. I found all of this to be ridiculous since they we're only serving the patio area, which probably has no more than 20 tables and have well over 5 servers. Despite having multiple waiters, they were highly unorganized and seemed to be so rushed for whatever reason. I got up to take my daughter and niece to the restroom and had to walk from the patio to the inside and this waiter was damn near harassing me about being a customer or not and where we were headed...😐I find it hard to belive that none of these people in this ENTIRE F*ING resturant couldn't see me or my table of 5 this entire time. Y'all are lucky I didn't go off on y'all when I had the chance!!! Better believe I didn't...

What a great way to enjoy the sun with a nice view and live music 🎵. Had the best time drinking their house Patio Mule (tart & refreshing) and margarita (got the original but they also have strawberry, peach, mango, or wild berry) # sponsored (more on Instagram @midwestmunching)

Biggest highlights for food was their shrimp ceviche, market salad , chicken tacos & house chips. Shrimp ceviche came with tomato & avocado, nice and light.

Market salad was huge as you can see here - added grilled shrimp . They mixed the ranch in their which made every bite just tasty!

Chicken tacos had a nice flavor throughout, came with pico de gallo, cabbage, and fresh pineapple. Which kept the tacos light

And their house chips. WOW I can eat these all day. Nice thick cut & double fried till super crispy.

Waited 45 minutes for our meals. After asking how much longer, we were told the ticket was lost in the machine! This could have been avoided if our very unattentive waitress would have checked in! We had to ask for refills of drinks, for napkins and utensils....all things that should be routine. The manager did come to the table to apologize and offered us chips and guacamole. Two of our meals, which happened to be the same were nothing short of horrible. The beef and cheddar panini was extremely dry. I could barely choke it down even after asking for extra horseradish sause, that BTW was never put on in the first place.
