Absolutely beautiful lights and displays—truly stunning. I loved seeing all the Jesus lights and signs, and I was genuinely moved by the theme. I even gave a big donation upfront because I believed in supporting something so meaningful. But now, I deeply regret it. The way I was treated was beyond unacceptable. Not a single nice person in sight—every encounter was met with rudeness and bad attitudes. The man at the pony ride? Absolutely vile. There was no reason for him to speak to me the way he did—mean, disrespectful, and a complete smartass for no apparent reason. In a place that claims “Jesus is the Reason for the Season,” this behavior is an embarrassment. It’s the opposite of what those signs represent. To make matters worse, I faced blatant discrimination because of my service animal—not once, but multiple times. My service animal is not a pet; he’s a medical device for my disabilities, protected under ADA law. Yet the ignorance and disrespect shown toward me and my medical needs were appalling. Learn the law! Every staff member we encountered had a chip on their shoulder—rude, unfriendly, and dismissive, all in front of my two young children. What a horrible reflection of a place that claims to honor Jesus and the spirit of the season. The lights and park may be beautiful, but the people running it? Awful. I’m disgusted. I feel completely disrespected and regret every dollar of the...
Read moreThis is an excellent seasonal display of Christmas lights. It has over 3.5 million lights. It takes a little over an hour to walk through the park and enjoy the lights. There are a few food trucks with a variety of foods available, Santa pictures, carriage rides, a ferris wheel, and a carousel. My family only walked the park so I cannot comment on the cost of the Ferris wheel or carousel. I would strongly recommend avoiding driving through the park as the wait to drive into it on a Saturday evening was very long. It is so long, we saw a newer model Cadillac sedan's radiator pop a leak and lose a significant amount of coolant as we were leaving the park. The line of cars wraps around the corner from the park. I would advise finding somewhere to park and walk to the park for the best evening. It is possible the line won't be as long during the week. One thing I noted was there was not much security. I saw one Sheriff Deputy inside the park and a few officers in vehicles blocking traffic from entering a certain area. It can be crowded and some folks will be smoking, so be aware of that if you have young children or people sensitive to second hand smoke. Overall, it is a beautiful light display with music setting the mood as well. I recommend a visit if you are able to make it during the part of the...
Read moreThe Chickasha Festival of Light is Oklahoma's premier Christmas and holiday lights display. With carriage rides, a ferris wheel, a carousel, an ice skating rink, concessions, holiday music, and the lights themselves, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Every year, the Festival begins the Tuesday night before Thanksgiving and continues every night through New Year's Eve. The Festival of Light was the first such display in the state and has a history of donating lights to other Oklahoma towns to create displays of their own. Entry is free, however, donations are what have allowed the city and volunteers to improve the light displays and to offer new attractions year after year. Please consider donating any amount at the donation stand towards the end of your drive through the park. If you're having trouble getting into the holiday spirit, then a trip to Chickasha is what you need.
Tip: Don't look up and spin while under the 90-foot Christmas tree or you may toss your...
