Shannon Springs Park — Attraction in Chickasha

Great place to have a picnic, go on your lunch break or even just to get those steps in. There's fishing for the kids, a water park, swimming pool and plenty of playground equipment. Chickasha. has a big celebration on the r 4th of July, with music, food and of course fireworks. During the holiday season there's Festival of Lights. You can drive through or on those milder winter nights you can walk through it for a totally different experience. Shannon Springs has always been a fun place to celebrate our Nation's Independence and watch fireworks. It's always a good family atmosphere and there is plenty of space to find a great place to sit and watch them. The display is comparable to other small or medium sized towns and very professionally done. The people in Chickasha are always friendly and it seems like no matter how long I've been gone from there, I'll almost always see someone I know to say hi to. When visiting this park, I'm usually in a car or a short walk on the path. WELL.....I ventured off the path, a & only a few step in the grass my shoes were covered in stickers. MEAN ok ANGRY stickers that had been there awhile. I got poked just as hard pulling them out. How ya supposed to play ball, have a picnic lunch, lay in the sun? The pool isn't opening this summer (2023), & reopening is indefinite.
