Came here on July 6, 2017 at around 21:45 because of the business owner/manager reply on yelp. Ten things I want to say. The service was better at Miramar. People at the counter did not greet, thank or say goodbye to me. The person in counter that placed our race order did small talked with us so that is good. The people who operates the kart area were nice enough to not repeat the rules since I told them that we have been to Miramar Speed Circuit. Overall, it was not bad though. The go-karts here feel newer than the one's at Miramar. Makes sense since this location is newer. One thing I did not know what that they can adjust the pedal to be closer or farther to you. I had them put closer to my feet. Reminds me of when I set up my racing simulator at home. The go-karts are also well maintained here than the one's at Miramar. It is not as crowded here compared to Miramar. The people here are good and courteous. I came here on my other visit and there was only 2 karts driving. But the track can accomodate more people than at Miramar. I was third in the best lap, but the first place person was very good. He took lines which I could not keep up. He was so good that he did not bump me or my friends off the line unlike the last experience I had at Miramar. I noticed he actually slammed his brakes when he was about to hit me which means he is a courteous driver. I also found out that he is a dad because his daughter was racing with him and she did better than my friend. I also feel that people who race here are more friendly than the ones at Miramar, but can only be controlled by fate. They have a very nice and big viewing area. There are plenty of space for me to pass people. There are plenty of spaces for my other friend who can only drive casual to not get hit unlike my last visit at Miramar. The course is way better than Miramar for the new drivers as the people like me who want to pass are able to because we have more room to do so. The waiting area/lobby is large, you can relax and spend good quality times with friends. The Miramar location is small for that. They have a pool table you can play as well. I never went to the restroom at Miramar, but the ones here are clean and big. Everything on Miramar rolls over to this one. Pricing, it is the same as Miramar. $20 is a great price for 10 minutes of driving. I do not know why people complain about that as Go-karts and location are expensive to maintain. All things (people, cars, houses) has maintenance costs and I think $20 is cheaper than other go-karts that I go to. I wanted to say that even if you experience was not 100% positive the owner will research and try to make it better (and the request has to be reasonable) by posting a review. Even though we had a lot of fun, the only negative was the go-kart itself. Every lap I did, I felt the go-kart pulling me back. It had a governor speed that pulled me and my friends back when we reached a certain speed limit (if you play racing games, it is the equivalent of you maxing out your top speed) and for me it happened twice in one lap. The end of the corner where I could have used the full speed to make a left before me hitting the brakes to make that sharp right U turn and the other one at the S bend in the middle of the lap. That caused me to be confused at first and threw me off until I had to accept the fact that all karts have that governor speed. I mention this because Miramar location did not have that or they did not make it as obvious as here. However, even with this experience it was not a bad one as the first place was able to do almost 2 seconds better than me which means I got a lot of driving skills to work on. I also think it is good since it is for safety issues. But it is still something to note though. Overall, I give them a 5 stars because I had a great go karting experience here. The speed governor is not enough to subtract 1 star and I see it as a challenge that we...
Read moreI’ve been here a few times just to bring the kids plus recently just had a party. And have always has a positive experience however after witnessing how they handle erratic, aggressive, young go kart drivers. I will not be returning to this location. WATCH your children when they are racing because the staff is not!!! I recently visited with my 3 children. There were 2 extremely barbaric, erratic teenage drivers, that were in our races. They were racing aggressively, continuously bumping, intruding in other’s space. They bump my 12 year old twins and myself multiple times. So I started swerving so they could no longer pass me and began driving defensively. The teens were behaving so poorly that at one point during the race, 2 of the employees STOPPED the race, held up the stop signs, to have a talk with them. Yet they were allowed to continue racing. Outrageous. This is supposed to be a family friendly establishment. Even when my children and I were done with our races, they were permitted to continue with the 2 additional races. The staff did nothing! You have no consideration nor regard for the safety of your patrons!!! I will not be returning as my daughter no longer wants to race alone, as she does not feel safe. I immediately notified the staff, whom stated that have spoken to this specific gentlemen previously!!!! Ridiculous. We will not be returning… maybe a different location but absolutely not the...
Read moreI took a star away for the expensive pricing and 1 for lack of driving help with the go carts. My son did the go carts and he drove slow because he wanted to follow the rules and make sure he did not bump anyone. The problem is he got bumped because he was slower than all the other drivers. It would have been nice if the employee had pulled him aside and told him to speed up. Also when he was bumped into the side he was stuck and couldnt drive anymore. The employee just sat there looking at him for about 4 minutes. My son raised his hand and the employee slowly (snail speed) made his way over and fixed my sons car so he could drive again. The employee never stopped the other car to warn him about bumping people. A woman purposely bumped her boyfriends Go cart really hard to pass him. The employee saw it and completely ignored it. The whole thing felt very unsafe. At K1 speed, I think they have a no tolerance policy for bumping. Later, when my kids went to redeem their tickets (from the arcade area)for a prize they were not allowed to combine tickets to get a prize. I have never heard of such a thing! They earned the tickets why cant they use them the way they want. If they each had 5 dollars they would be allowed to combine it and buy something for 10 dollars. Such...
