Arrived after midnight without a reservation and Rae assisted me with the utmost care and professionalism and provided a 2 pm check out without me even having to ask. Late arrival was due to a wedding and the Homewood Suites not being able to provide a room that didn't have a musty smell or one that had not been cleaned yet! I had the BEST night's sleep due to a REAL comforter (not too thick as to remain eco friendly) and the amazing pillows. Most hotels are foregoing an actual comforter and leave you freezing with thin top sheeting only. The closet system was brilliant, plenty of vanity space and outlets, shower pressure was divine, and the living room area/coffee bar/desk workspace actually looked and felt like a separate area. Kudos to the design team of these rooms. Loved the bench along the window for luggage and the blackout curtains really do the job here. Mattress was just the right pressure to keep you comfortable all night long and awake without any aches or pains. The lobby area is gorgeous and welcoming with plenty of space to host friends and family you are visiting and has a complete bar area if that's your thing. The pool is sparkling clean with gorgeous outdoor fireplaces surrounded by comfortable seating and more tables/chairs. Nice hot tub too! This hotel has a very clean fitness center with all the equipment you would need to get a full body workout-elips, treads, bikes, free wts, benches and circuit station. Fill your water bottle up with their filtered stations! They really thought of it ALL!!!! HUGE SHOUT OUT TO HOUSEKEEPING------They did not knock or make a peep and let me actually sleep and enjoy my late check out. My room was sparkling clean, as if nobody had ever stayed in it. Thank you housekeeping! I can only hope to see more of this level of Springhill Suites being built, as I am converted and will be booking...
Read moreDear Hotel Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I stayed in room 206 yesterday. I selected your hotel because I had an important event (a major competition) today and wanted a peaceful, restful night before the big day. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but restful, and I feel compelled to share my frustrations.
The soundproofing in my room was nonexistent. I could hear every little sound from the adjacent room (208). The laughter of the children next door went on until midnight, which, although annoying, was tolerable. However, things took a dramatic turn at 6 a.m. this morning when I was subjected to the sound of an alarm clock ringing incessantly for a full hour. It started at 6, stopped briefly, then started again, and continued until 7 a.m after I decided to go down for a strong coffee. It was as if the alarm clock was personally mocking my need for sleep.
I had planned for a restful 10-hour sleep, but thanks to the delightful noise from the neighboring room, I managed only five hours of sleep before my competition. This, I must say, is a new low for my hotel stays. My sleep was ruined, and I felt utterly unprepared for my event.
In an attempt to resolve the situation, I called the front desk for assistance. The staff member kindly went to knock on the door of the neighboring room but reported that no one answered, thus leaving the situation unresolved. While I appreciate their efforts, this seems like a rather passive approach to handling an issue that could have been easily solved with a little more initiative.
This experience has left me extremely disappointed, and I feel that it has negatively affected my performance today. I hope this message is received as constructive feedback so future guests don’t have to endure what I did.
I would appreciate any follow-up or compensation for this rather...
Read moreI had a friend fr out of state and wanted her to feel comfortable so i booked us a room here in Springhill Chula Vista for 1 night. When I 1st booked the room online they only had a king size bed available. I called and asked if they have 2 queen beds available. The person i talked to ckd & proceeded to tell me they did not. However she did advised me to ck again a couple of days before the date. I did, & I was able to get 2 queen beds. She then asked me if I wanted to keep the upgraded booking. I asked her what the diff was between the reg & upgraded? She said it’s $20 more for upgraded & will be on a higher floor w/ nicer mountain view. I asked her what floor will that be. She said above 4th floor. So I said Yes let’s keep it upgraded. So the day comes and we go & ck in. When I got the keys I noticed that we’re on the 5th floor. So I asked if we can be on a higher floor (for a better view of the mountains). She said there’s only 5 floors. In my mind, I was like “What?”. So I didn’t say anything in front of my friend. So we get to the room. Right away I noticed how small the room was. The layout was really off. It’s not like other hotels I stayed in. Directly in front of the 2 beds is the bathroom door. The TV is off to the side almost close by the entrance door in between the couch & the desk. Yes you can pivot the tv at an angle. But it’s just way too far fr the beds. I think they should have switched the bathroom door & tv placement around. Then there’s the flow of water in the shower that’s very weak. When I booked the hotel it was supposed to be $254. But when I ckd in I was charged $340. Not sure how that came to that. I just can’t recommend this hotel based on those things. However breakfast selection was great. Food was awesome as well as the kitchen and...
