While in Cincinnati, OH my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this awesome Type & Print museum. This place was a hidden little gem. The curator, Jacob, was fantastic. We went online to make an appointment, and showed up at 3:00pm for our tour. Jacob opened the door and asked if we were his 3:00pm guests. We said yes and went in. About 15 minutes later a group of three ladies show up telling him they are his 3:00pm guests, and they were. Well, what my boyfriend and I did not know was, you have to get a response confirming the time slot for your tour. Any way the ladies and Jacob agreed my boyfriend and I could stay and join them, and man am I ever glad they did. This was a great tour with so much information. We also got to make our names and stamp a couple cards and a bookmark. Jacob was so informative and friendly. We will definitely go back again. And to the three ladies that allowed us to crash your tour, thank you so much it was a blast.

Well worth a visit. Intriguing displays. Super knowledgeable and passionate staff. Enjoyed a hands on experience casting and printing our own names. Plus the museum has a mission of educating for the future as much as it is about preserving the rich history of type and print in the Cincinnati area. Free parking and admission, but you will need to make an appointment ahead of time.

One of Cincinnati’s finest ‘hidden gems’ that I hope doesn’t stay ‘hidden’ for too long. It’s a free to visit, amazing, and interactive museum experience for all ages. Gary is a fantastic owner and guide. Be sure to make an appointment in advance over the phone. Highly recommend if you have any general interest in museums and history, let alone printing. Enjoy!
