We decided to get a membership because we will be homeschooling our kids and thought this is the perfect place to take them for trips. Purchased a membership and at the end regretted it. There were some areas that were not very clean and some staff members were not helpful with where things were located. We were trying to find how to get to the space area and according to the map we had to go to the lower level to get there. When we went there the door said exit only so we ended up giving up on trying to find how to get there. We ended up going to the children’s section first. We did not enjoy ourselves due to the type of people we came in contact with and kids were running my kid over, no manners at all. Even the adults were cussing and just overall not pleasant to be around. I guess this is what this world is coming to, unpleasant people. The thing that made us change our mind about our membership and have it refunded was the employees at the food section right outside of the children’s area. We went up to place our order on the computer and we selected the smoothie. The smoothie was a photo of a strawberry smoothie, no other options or description. So we expected a strawberry smoothie. We went up and asked the girl if we could pay cash, she said no. So we used the computer to place our order. The girl asked what kind of smoothie we wanted and we said strawberry since that is what was on the computer, that is what we expected. She said they did not have it, only berry or peach. We said we did not like either of those so we would like to cancel our order and get a refund. She stormed off irritated and got another girl, manager not too sure. She came around the corner, irritated and went to the computer and was complaining as she was trying to figure it out. She said it was refunded. I asked for a receipt and she said she doesn’t have one. We didn’t get an original receipt either as the computer said see attendant for a receipt, didn’t get one from her either. At that point we couldn’t get anything. She stormed around complaining and we are standing there waiting for something from her and nothing. I told her I’m not leaving without a receipt because knowing my luck I’ll be charged for it and not get refunded. She stormed around saying I don’t have a receipt. I flat out said to her that I didn’t appreciate her attitude and that all we want is to cancel our order and get a receipt. It’s plain and simple. She blew it up to where she was storming around complaining and all the other girls had attitudes as well. The older lady working understood why we would think we would get a strawberry smoothie since that is what the photo was, no other options to select or description. She ended up storming off upstairs and came back about five minutes later and had me write down my email address so they could send me a receipt. She was incredibly rude and honestly her attitude was unacceptable. It was a simple task and first of all your in customer service, so you serve the customer. We ended up canceling our memberships and just paid for one day tickets. On the way home we saw our refund for our memberships but not the smoothies. Shocker, she didn’t do her job. No email or no refund to our account so far. As for the museum goes my toddler didn’t really care for it at all. She seemed bored and not too excited about majority of it. She LOVES dinosaurs and want one but excited about that sections at all. Us, ourselves weren’t too impressed with it either. Probably will never come back again. Much rather enjoy the aquarium or the zoo. Money...

The Children's Museum in Cincinnati is a delightful destination that sparks curiosity, imagination, and exploration in children of all ages. As a parent, I recently had the pleasure of taking my children to this museum, and I was thoroughly impressed by its engaging exhibits, interactive activities, and educational value.
Upon entering the museum, it was immediately evident that it was designed with children in mind. The colorful and welcoming atmosphere created an instant sense of excitement. The layout of the museum is thoughtfully organized, ensuring that each exhibit seamlessly flows into the next, allowing children to explore at their own pace.
The exhibits at the Children's Museum are both educational and entertaining, allowing children to learn through play. From the moment my children stepped foot inside, they were captivated by the variety of hands-on activities available. From a pretend grocery store where they could shop and check out groceries to a construction zone where they could build and experiment, each exhibit provided a unique and immersive experience.
One of the highlights of our visit was the "Water Works" exhibit, where children could explore the properties of water through interactive play. My children spent hours experimenting with water tables, fountains, and dams, learning about the power and importance of water in a fun and engaging way. The exhibit's emphasis on sensory play and scientific concepts was truly impressive.
Another standout exhibit was the "Imagination Playground," a space that encourages creativity and collaboration. With large foam blocks and loose parts, children can build, create, and imagine endless possibilities. This open-ended play fosters problem-solving skills, spatial awareness, and social interaction, providing a valuable learning experience.
The Children's Museum also offers a range of special exhibits that rotate throughout the year, keeping visits fresh and exciting. From themed exhibits like "Dinosaurs" to collaborative art exhibits, there is always something new and intriguing to discover. These special exhibits enhance the museum's educational offerings and provide additional opportunities for children to learn and explore.
The museum's commitment to education is evident in its programming and events. From interactive storytimes and science demonstrations to art workshops and cultural celebrations, there are numerous opportunities for children to engage with various subjects and cultures. The museum also hosts educational programs for schools and offers resources for educators, making it a valuable resource for both families and schools alike.
The staff at the Children's Museum deserve special recognition for their dedication and enthusiasm. Throughout our visit, they were friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist and engage with the children. Their passion for inspiring young minds was evident, creating a positive and welcoming environment for families.
Overall, the Children's Museum in Cincinnati is a must-visit destination for families. It offers a world of wonder and learning that engages children's imaginations, encourages exploration, and fosters a love of discovery. With its interactive exhibits, educational programming, and attentive staff, the museum provides a safe and enriching environment where children can learn, play, and create lasting memories.

Read moreWe have passes here and it’s been a lot of fun.
Things we’ve enjoyed: The children’s museum has lots of fun things for kids of younger ages. I would say if your kids are 10+ there probably won’t be much for them besides the wooded area. But the rest of the museum is fun for adults and older kids! I love the baby area for our one year old. They have a nursing room and a little part just for infants. There’s not too much for her to do yet because she isn’t walking. Plenty to do for our 6yo, 4yo, and 2yo. The museum of history and science has so much to see. You just have to walk around to figure out where things are, it’s very spaced out! The cave is our favorite exhibit. Reminds me of a real cave we went to in Tennessee. Lots of stairs though, just to be aware. The ice age exhibit is really neat and a ton of fun for my kids.
Things that could be better: they hyped up the science show, we waited for probably ten minutes and it lasted around 20 seconds, it was two small puffs of fire after they kept staying it would be a fireball explosion. The bathroom back by where the fossils are is SO HOT. There are no signs in the ice age exhibit that say “no touching” or “no climbing” it becomes very confusing what can and can’t be touched. There was an employee literally following everyone around saying “don’t touch that, don’t walk there, don’t step on that, stay on the path.” When the areas look okay to climb on. The family behind me was getting frustrated too and complaining that the areas that can’t be touched should be roped off, especially when it seems aimed towards children. In the photo I uploaded of the mounds and the wolves, that area is okay to climb on, and just a couple feet away where my son stood the employee told him not to stand there. When it’s RIGHT NEXT to an area that’s kid friendly and meant to be played on. There’s an area where the only thing in the room is a fake lake with color changing lights, it looks like it’s meant for play, and he told my kids they couldn’t be there. I will post a video of this specific area.
Things to be aware of: it’s a far walk from the parking lot, up hill. The ramps in the museum of history and science are very steep. They have strollers you can rent, and I saw somebody there with an electric scooter that had a “rented” sign on it. It can get very busy. Our first two times it was packed. Like every time we turned around we almost bumped into somebody. The price of omnimax, Holocaust exhibit, and special exhibits like the Lego Exhibit are extra.
All-in-all we’ve had a lot of fun here and come regularly. I emailed the company over the employee who was following people around and how it was confusing what was okay to touch, will update...
