Daylight Produce — Attraction in Citrus Heights

I used to come to this store at least 2-3 times a month. I liked that they have variety of good selection of veggies and fruits. I was a regular customer who used to enjoy to come and shop there. The reason I am giving it one star is related to the blonde cashier that gave me recently very bitter taste of my whole experience. She doesn’t seem to have good customer service skills and appears unprofessional and rude. Mainly she has little to no tolerance toward little kids. Every time I come in to the store with kids, I have this uneasy feeling that she is watching us and following us in the store. I am not sure what her problem is around kids. I assume she doesn’t have any of her own, so she has low tolerance.I have two little kids and sometimes kids being kids they like to touch things like little inexpensive toys they have on display there. She is watching them like hawk as soon as they stepped into the store and just keeps repeating “you brake it, you pay it”. What an uneasy feeling and experience I haven’t encountered elsewhere. I spend each month quite of bit money there, but I guess I am going to take my dollars elsewhere where the customer actually feels valued, I think decent thing from management would be to apologize for...

If your looking for an abundance of wonderful produce, this place doesn't disappoint. It had a lot of things both local and imported, some fairly standard and some more exotic. They seemed to also have a nice selection of in season fruits and vegetables. They also had a nice little Mexican deli, some great Mexican baked goods and a really great selection of Mexican spices. They don't have a public restroom so when my son said he needed to use to potty, we had to cut our visit short or else I might have stayed to explore their goods a little more in depth. I have lived a block from this place for 6 years and this is one of the best places around to get produce and meats at fair prices. Their fresh Pico de Gallo, carnitas, pastries, and cocadas are to die for. They get all the regular fruits and vegetables but keep an eye out in late summer for the yellow fleshed watermelons, a true treat! Great drink and chip selection. The service is always great, there is never a long wait. They accept SNAP! The people are all very friendly and I feel like they appreciate you as a customer and I'm happy to give them my money.
