If I could give zero stars, or even negative stars, it would be for mary’s thrift store. Today there was a neighborhood garage sale event and I drove past two paintings that I loved. Once I got back home the paintings were gone, so I knocked on the door and asked if they were sold or maybe taking them somewhere to donate. My neighbor told me her husband was taking the paintings to Mary’s thrift store on Auburn Blvd and that I can take them off his hands from there, so I went to meet him there. Once I got there I went straight to the front register and asked if they could help me find them, he was hesitant but said yes. I understand it was an inconvenient request but they had been dropped off less than ten minutes before. He went to the back, glanced around for one second and told me they didn’t have it. Since I knew for a fact it was here, I figured they just hadn’t priced it yet so he was waiting.I even asked him where people drop off their items, so I could look around, he claimed there was no receiving dock. Where else would you guys get your merchandise??? I went next door and shopped a little then went back to see if it was out yet. I then asked another worker if she had seen any artwork come in today, she said it was in the front of the store. I went to look, it wasn’t there. I gave up at that point and was planning to come back later, it had to be priced then. A couple hours later I arrived at the store, looked around for them and didn’t see anything. I asked a third worker if she had seen any artwork and immediately she told another worker to help me, completely brushing me off when i’ve been nothing but nice. What looked like a manager told me she didn’t see anything, it was very abrupt and I could tell she was lying because my neighbor told me they were there!! I was being lied to left and right, at this point I was annoyed because of the amount of immaturity and anger I was receiving from the staff. I decided to drive around the back because I knew there would be a receiving area. As soon as I drove behind the store, I see the paintings and all of my neighbors things from her garage sale. Right next to the garbage, but around the corner so they could go back and get what they wanted. To my surprise, one of the paintings was in perfect condition(AS MY NEIGHBOR LEFT IT). The other one however, was DESTROYED. The staff completely tore off the backing of the frame, ripped the painting, broke the frame, and left it outside. They are crooks. They knew I wanted the painting, but they didn’t know why. They assumed there was something in the painting so they DESTROYED the painting(to find nothing). I was in disbelief with how shady and disgusting they were acting. Unbelievable, do not give this business your time they are all around SHADY AND UGLY! I was able to salvage some of it, but it is still pretty bad. I called the store and asked to speak to a manager, the lady seemed nervous and told me she wasn’t there. So I asked when she would be there, she was vague and said monday. Once I got it out of her what time the manager would be there, I hung up. I will be calling the manager, they are probably...
Read moreI and my family just left this store. We all scored and left with more than one bag. I thought the staff were all kind and friendly. It was very organized in my opinion. I've never seen or heard of this store at all. I would love to come back in the future and shop again. It was a nice atmosphere with amazing selections and great deals. I can't believe I've been missing out on Mary's Thrift Store! I'd like to mention that they charge .50 cents for a debit fee charge in all honestly I don't mind at all and wasn't offended. I've read reviews were other shoppers were offended but most banks to withdraw cash have fees as well so I don't get the negative criticism on that end. They also have a line for just cash paying customers and credit card paying customers. Which I think is brilliant to save time. Keep up the great work no...
Read moreWe just came in, and this is our second time coming. But man today was the day that they decided to test my wife with their awful customer service! My wife came up to one of the older looking lady associates that short and heavier set woman, and asked politely if they had a changing room. And she responded not only with the most despicable/irritated face as if my wife had offended her for asking. And still didn’t respond and just stared and waved her hand to dismiss her as if she wasn’t asking a logical question! This is even after I asked her in Spanish cause she thought we didn’t speak Spanish, We were recommending this place to others but not no more after seeing how they consistently treat there customers...
