Old preserve area that primarily serves as a small parking area for the Upper Tampa Bay Trail, existed before the trail. Old entrance when Gunn Highway was a primitive two lane still there, chained off. Old railroad corridor along here later used as water main corridor then a trail. Manhole covers above pipes still visible if you look hard along trail edge. Small parking area with two handicap spaces paved, rest of parking is a tire killer surface. Two picnic metal tables under cover available, but, like the other rest areas along trail, they have no grilling facilities. Used to ride and cook out for fun, doable in Pinellas county, not here. When the trail has been closed due to storm damage, across the light is mall parking where I have ridden for exercise. If you don’t have two bucks, I guess you could park there. Wish it had grill, conveniently...

Very cute and well maintained trail, about .25 miles and ends at the biking trail that runs parallel to the traffic. The parking is 2 dollars and is a self service machine.

I spent an hour slowly exploring what is about a 10 min walk there and back and discovered many fallen trees with vines and wild flowers growing from them. I spotted several tadpoles in the creek and a pair of cardinals.

Your local squirrels will hang out here and of course brown anoles. Overall I enjoyed the vines and flowers the most. It is very close to a road so you can still hear traffic even though the majority of the ambience is bugs and birds in nature.

Wish it was a little longer and quieter but overall I’m happy I made the trip here, if prepared with the right equipment you could make this a great herping spot for reptiles and amphibians due to all...

Beautiful place. They're building a bridge over rocky creek too that's gonna be awesome. Edit I just went about a week ago- the middle of January 2020- and the bridge is finished, it's absolutely beautiful. Parking is two dollars, which kind of suprised me since it's such a small preserve and an extremely short trail. The shortest I've ever seen in my life actually, it's just a tiny little loop that goes from the parking lot to the upper Tampa Bay bike trail. So you can get to the preserve trail from the bike trail so that's really cool. The trail is very clearly marked too so that's always a good thing. If you are someone who drives there with your bike to use the upper Tampa Bay bike trail it's a great place to park and the parking lot is very nicely paved...
