PrecisionFix — Attraction in City of Albany

I had a hacking issue and took both my Mac and Macbook to Precision Fix, per a recommendation by a friend. I was able to make an appointment for that day. When I got to Precision Fix, the technician, Shawn, was very personable and polite and he could help me with my issue right away. I misunderstood what the cost would be to have both devices scanned for viruses and malware. I thought it was both devices for $152.12 (tax included) because that is what the receipt said that he handed me before I left. When I went to pick up the devices and the bill was $312.15 (including a credit card fee and tax), I was not happy. I had brought $152.12 cash and then I had to put the rest on my credit card, which I was not prepared for. I emailed Precision Fix and expressed my frustration bewilderment at the discrepancy. I got a very courteous and thorough explanation from Matt. They did, in fact, have a telephone recording where I was told, prior to taking the computers, that it would be $140 for each machine. I was so upset by the hacking, that I did not recall much of anything said on that phone call. The fact that the receipt said I was to pay a total of $152.12 was a clerical error, which Matt assured me, they have now remedied. I believe Precision Fix operates with complete transparency and integrity, and they handled my issue with professionalism. Fantastic service! Convenient store front with free parking on the street out front.

I had an old phone with a bad battery and wonky charging port. The store accessed the repair required and did offer a fix quote, but also suggested looking at their pre-owned phone selection. Even though the pre-owned phone was less expensive than fixing my old phone, they thought it was the best solution to my situation. I agree. This shows they care about their customer and not just the dollars in the register. The pre-owned phone has an excellent battery and charging port.

I visited them again with a phone that had a broken screen. The repair was fast, like… really fast. It was about 15 minutes! The price was fair and the phone works flawlessly now.

The store reaches out to you a few days later to make sure everything is working properly. I suggest this store location for all my friends and family who need cell phone, tablet, or gaming...

I broke the screen on my S22 Ultra and was relegated to using one of my older backup phones. I then broke the screen on that phone also. (Yes, I am tough on my phones.) As I was still paying the phone carrier for the S22, I decided to get it fixed. I brought the phone to the store on New Scotland Ave in Albany and there was a very polite and pleasant young lady working behind the counter. To my surprise, she said that she could fix my phone right then and there. I watched her through the whole procedure, she was very careful and diligent in her work. She finished the job in less than half an hour and then ran the phone through a battery of tests to ensure that it was working correctly. I was extremely pleased with the whole process.
