I've only been at the "Boardwalk" twice-once for a slice at Campese's Pizza which I'm sorry to say, just isn't what it used to be. It maybe a different sauce, I'm not quite sure what I don't like as much. My second visit was at the Irish Bar (forgive me for not knowing the exact name but there's only one bar in the Boardwalk) and it was not unlike any of the other bars I've been to in the Dunkirk/Fredonia area. I'm not much of a bar person really. If I visit one even once a year, it'd be unusual. The noise, the having to yell to have even the shortest conversation-it isn't for me even before I got 'old'. While I have only been at the Boardwalk twice, I do drive past it to either drive around the dock or sometimes to just sit on the dock. It's surprising who I might see while I'm down there. That's fast more fun for me than visiting the Boardwalk but that is my thing. I'm sure there are plenty of people, both visitors and residents that will disagree with my opinion about the place. And they would be just as right as I am to certain people. Is that not the...

Beautiful Day trip locale! There are several lil eateries and shops with local art or Bill's gear. The view is gorgeous and even though parking is limited, we found a spot easily. We had an energy fruit drink at the bakery which we loved, got the mini donuts too they were tasty but a little tough. Also tried the pizza which was really good, except the sauce is sweet, but the crust was delightful and the slices are huuuuggggge. The souvenir shops were absolutely wonderful and both owners were extremely kind and friendly. Finally, we got a couple frozen drinks from the Irish pub, very cool hangout with a unique fun vibe and decor. Overall, we had a fantastic time and will absolutely be back for a...

Huge improvements since my last visit. Lots to see.... Pier and grounds are freshly landscaped. You can easily drive onto the pier, park, and relax on the many benches facing the water & docks. New restaurant/bar/night spot on the water. Row of quaint shops and food stops with a restroom conveniently located. Parking is convenient and nicely organized. The breeze off the lake keeps you comfortable on a hot day! I was traveling on the Thruway and got off just to visit the pier. I'll be back again whenever I'm...

It was nicely maintained and made for a pleasant walk. There were a couple of restaurants, bars and shops there in case you needed a break. We continued our walk down to a park that had a monument for WWI. It was dated back to 1926(?) And referred to it as The World War since it was way before WWII. Very interesting.

Always terrific food and interesting local banter next to Dunkirk Pier and numerous restaurants elsewhere along with historical lighthouses and boating opportunities. State park nearby for camping cooking and recreation opportunities
