Save A Lot is basically like any grocery store you might find in a city the size of Dunkirk. Unfortunately, in the event that you may need assistance in finding a certain product, you probably won't find an employee either. Except for the cashiers, and the woman that handles the produce department, I'm not sure that there are any other employees. My only problem other than absentee employees is keeping the sales of the Dunkirk SavALot and that of the store located outside of Silver Creek separate because they are owned by two different people. This only bothered me when I happen to be shopping from the weekly flyer from the Dunkirk store but was actually in the Silver Creek location. Each store has their own sale each week and they advertise in a flyer printed up for their store only. Sometimes it has the feel of a market place in Mexico, the on-site meat cutters have a good selection of meats, including some you might not find in other grocery stores, both in animal and cut. This is a good place for pig's feet, beef tongue, I get pork butts there when they have good deals. Mexican and Caribbean produce is also right up front just as you walk through the door, I like that walking into a produce market feel.    Read moreEmployees are very friendly. The meats, poultry, and all other foods are very fresh and all the breads and pastries are absolutely delicious. The entire store is very clean from the front of the store to the back of the store and that includes the bathroom. The managers, Clerks and every other employee are very friendly and greet you with a smile and a friendly greeting throughout the day.
