Ulta Beauty — Attraction in City of Ithaca

Do not go to April at the salon, be warned!

I used to see a different stylist at the salon and she was amazing but she left so I was booked with someone new named April. Right away she was exhibiting signs of an incoming issue during the consult and I wish I'd just walked out.

She also ignored all the previous notes on my account which I directed her to look at, made by the first stylist about my preferences and medical requirements.

I asked for a small amount of highlights and she wanted to do a larger more expensive treatment which I cannot medically do and she was unwilling to listen to my requests and requirements.

She was also complaining during the service about how other clients had been upset with her work and called her manager about it, all the while being pushy and gaslighting me into doing the more expensive service while half way into the highlight.

She refused to use the product I asked for and instead used something I'm allergic to which caused me to break out into a severe reaction and seek medical treatment that very day.

I had open sores on my scalp and my neck and head were swollen for a week, I had to stay home and it was terrible for my health condition. I felt like she only cared about making more money and not at all about the clients well being or ability to afford such services.

She even had the audacity to call me and try to reschedule another duplicate service afterwards.

I feel like I'm stuck with it now so I'm not sure what to do, I'm afraid to go back to Ulta because maybe their standards have slipped at the salon. It's been a serious fail on their part and deserving of a review to warn...

I have never been harassed so much in my LIFE! When I came into the store every single employee asked if they could help me or if I needed anything which I told them all no I was just looking. then I guess one of the managers decided she needed to come over to me a second time and ask what I was looking for I told her I'm changing shampoo she asked me why I said bc I wanted to and she continued to try to carry a conversation with me. I expressed several times I did not need help that I was just looking around the store I gave never felt so harassed and targeted in my life. I love Ulta beauty and as a cosmetologist it's one of the stores I frequent often but I do not believe I will b returning to this...

I’m not from New York but I recently traveled there and of course had to do some shopping! Everyone there was super friendly and welcoming. One specific person that stood out to me was Maya. I have been trying to take better care of my hair and was lost on where I should start. Maya went out of her way to walk me through the different products I could use on my hair, and she was extremely knowledgeable on everything she showed me. Ultimately I ended the day with new products for my hair that have been doing wonders for me! Next time I travel to New York I will for sure be returning to this store. Thank...
