I will be succinct and brief. The experience of dining here is comparable to finding an okay-ish fast-casual operation in a food court at a second tier airport. Imagine you have a layover at the John Glenn Columbus International in Ohio and youâre hungry and surprised to see ramen and sushi rolls served in an inexpensive and sloppily built cafe, but with a little thought and design behind it also. I have dined here once and my plastic bowl of ramen was so bland and disappointing that I decided not to finish it, as I really was hungry and wanted to be satiated with some food that at least evoked a memory of ingredients, a recipe, a few thoughts into its preparation and serving. My meal was given a number and called out for pickup and came across as akin to tasteless, institutional soft goop and I must point out I went in with my expectations adjusted for a new restaurant serving Japanese named food in Ithaca, upstate New York in the tail end of a pandemic. It would be more then fine to be served instant noodles with the dreadfully yummy msg seasoning pack, but at Tai Chi the food was tragically worse and I wager consistently so. There was no hint of anything being amiss with my visit; in either the front or back of the house. This establishment is best used by students in need of a chair and Wi-Fi and the cost of a bubble tea is your ticket to stay. If youâre in need of food pass...
Read moreZERO STARS!!! I am done coming here. This place became one of my favorites when it first opened. I mostly get their poke bowls or salads. Since starting my weight loss journey and working with a dietician I have significantly lowered my calorie intake and portion sizes. Each time I place an order, thereâs this one older woman who works there who never fails to judge my order every single time I come in and tries upselling me and wonât take no for an answer, and her weird faces and expressions she always makes at me truly deserve to win her an Oscar award. âNo sauce? Gross. Thatâs all youâre going to eat thatâs not much food? scoff. You always have such a weird order.â I can really do without the attitude and criticism especially when I am not the one on the other side of the counter. Yes, ideally taste wise I would prefer to add things that load on calories, added sugars etc but everyoneâs situation and needs are different. If you come here, you had better be prepared to either order your food the exact same way that lady would order for herself or be prepared to argue and face criticism when all youâre trying to do is place a simple order. Oh, and they expect you to tip them and will freak out when you donât when the only service they did for you was turn the iPad around. In a town with dozens of other Asian restaraunts, you will find much...
Read moreI just went to this place because of the great reviews it had. Unfortunately I had an awful experience instead. I asked for a poke bowl with three proteins to stay. When I go to eat it there was no protein at all. I went and told them of their mistake. They looked at me like I was robbing them. I had received the food like a minute ago and they thought I had eaten the salmon, tuna and shrimp already. I asked them why were they getting upset and giving me an attitude like I was lying? The cashier answered that people tend to do that there. I told her, I wasnât lying and that was wrong of them to assume I was lying when they are the ones who made the mistake. The woman added the proteins but place the bowl harshly on the counter. I told them it was my first time going there and I was not going back. The cashier answered she didnât care. When I asked what did you say? She changed her response and said she said it was too bad. So disrespectful and rude! Zero customer service! If they were so sure I ate the food, they could had checked the cameras and see I didnât. How can you have a business and treat customers this way!! Food wasnât even good. Never going back there and I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND...
