I rarely take time to rate any businesses, but had to take a minute to rave about Bona Fide Masks. Their prices are fantastic, and so is the quality of their masks and their speed of shipping, but it's really their outstanding customer service that is bringing me to write this review.
When I've had to reach out to them for any reason I've always received very fast responses, and they go above and beyond to take care of their customers. I never have to chase them down to get them to follow through. Once I contacted them because I was being charged a shipping fee on what should have been free shipping, and they immediately took care of the problem for me. Recently I ordered two boxes of their Harley L-188 N95 masks, but I received four--I reached out to find out how we could arrange a return of the boxes we didn't pay for, and they graciously told us to keep them. Their communications are always respectful and pleasant, and like a breath of fresh air in this era of phone trees and passing-the-buck.
(As a side note, we particularly recommend the Harley L-188 N95 masks, which fit the bigger faces of my husband and son perfectly, as well as their their child-sized Powecom and Harley KN95 masks, which fit my daughter well and come in fun colors).
Because there's no point in purchasing masks from a shoddy or unethical supplier, I did some careful research before going with Bona Fide masks. They have a solid reputation and were recommended to me by a specialist at Project N95, and our experiences since we started purchasing from them have backed up all the good things we were told. They have had our business since early in the pandemic, and we'll never go elsewhere for masks.

As with most public health programs, funding is an underlying challenge affecting every decision making process. I emailed the customer service contact for Bona Fide Masks to request assistance with any potential donation opportunities. I anticipated some verification process, with forms and documentation to receive what I assumed would be a small donation while I sought other potential donors.
I was absolutely shocked to see an email response within an hour of my email. And the response wasn’t automated or from a customer service representative - it was from Bill Taubner, the President of the company. Without hesitation he had offered 1,000 masks, set to be shipped out the following day. And he delivered on that promise. I received 1,000 KN95 masks within just a couple of days of my request.
I have ordered from this company for my own family and have followed their philanthropic stories. I can now personally attest to their sincerity regarding their charitable messaging, as well as to the quality of their product and service. It can be daunting to know the barriers facing public health workers as they dedicate their careers to improving the well being of their communities. Last week I accidentally ordered the wrong style of masks for my kids. 100 of them!
So while I knew the odds weren't good, I figured it was worth emailing the company to see if I could exchange them.
I sent this email at 4:30 my time which is 7:30pm at the company headquarters. IN TWO MINUTES I had an email from the HEAD OF THE COMPANY referring my request to the right person and asking for confirmation that the request had been received.
TWO MINUTES.
AT 7:30PM!!
This kicked off a flurry of emails between me and Bill Taubner, the owner, where I raved about his masks and dedication to customer service and he decided to just send me 100 replacement masks of the right kind for FREE, while telling me to keep and/or donate the ones I ordered mistakenly.
WHAT A MENSCH!!
Then I asked him about ball chains (the company's original purpose and product) because we needed a few feet of chain for our tub stopper and my husband was having a hard time finding it. SO NOW HE'S SENDING US SOME BALL CHAIN TOO!
