Yesterday was me and my boyfriend's third year anniversary and for a change we went to this hibachi restaurant. We've been to another hibachi restaurant but that experience in it's self was less great then my experience here. The place is amazing the decor is very lovely and very outstanding I automatically loved it immediately. What I found different with Yumi as far as a hibachi restaurant goes is that Yumi's wasn't crowded like most hibachi restaurant are, it had space, I didn't feel like I was shoulder to shoulder back to back with other paying customers I had space and that made me breath and enjoy my meal. The food was awesome I loved the show the chef gave us and I love how polite and very talkative the staff and chef were which is something you don't see in restaurant much, it didn't feel force which was nice I know how hard it is for workers in any business retail or restaurant to make themselves seem friendly. So I enjoyed that. The drinks that they have were awesome no problems and the prices weren't bad for hibachi probably closes to almost the cheapest compare to other hibachi restaurants I've been to. All in all I would definitely come back to this hibachi restaurant. It's located in a nice shopping area in my opinion and I feel like I'm welcome there when I come back. I loved everything about it it made my date very wonderful. I give Yumi's five...
Read moreI stopped by Yumi in Pelham Parkway for dinner with my husband. The two ladies working the floor were kind and welcoming, even though it was close to closing and they looked like they had a long day. We were seated along with another family.
Unfortunately, the experience with the cook was very disappointing. He seemed frustrated from the start and repeatedly got the orders wrong, even though he asked everyone what they wanted beforehand. Instead of correcting himself calmly, he became visibly irritated. At one point, he left the food unattended to get more rice and even threw the tray of noodles onto another counter.
As he served, the food was tossed carelessly onto the plates most of it landed on the counter instead. I’ve eaten at many hibachi restaurants, and I’ve never seen service handled this way. The food itself was poorly prepared, and the entire experience felt rushed and unpleasant.
I understand it was late, but that’s not an excuse for rudeness or sloppy cooking. In the end, I couldn’t enjoy my meal and ended up taking it home my dog enjoyed it more than I did. Sadly, I would not return to this location based on...
Read moreI never have been to this location physically so I cant Speak on the service or hospitality. I’m trying to give it the benefit of the doubt since it has so many good reviews but honestly I’m confused. I order Via uber eats. I got The filet mignon hibachi and my partner got the filet and lobster. Both dishes were overcooked and chewy, and that’s just the meat, lobster, shrimp. The fried rice was not fried, it seems like it just had a little soy sauce on it for coloring, but besides that was undercook as well as the veggies inside. The noodles aren’t your typical thin hibachi style noodles, think more cheap Chinese food lo-mein. The soup honestly tastes like water, so much that my partner actually didn’t even know what it was supposed to be. Salad dressing was good so that was a plus? I’m really unsatisfied. I spent over 60$ on this meal and got food that I ended up tasting and then throwing in the trash. Contemplating calling up to attempt to get my money back. I rarely write bad reviews if ever but I honestly l wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, and am hoping they just had a bad day or...
