Hartley Park — Attraction in City of Mount Vernon

It is a nice park. It's pretty clean considering there is always kids in it throwing things on the floor. I love the side with the big web thing for the 5- 12 yr Olds to climb on. I like that there are picnic tables in the park and also benches along the gate. There is a basketball court and a little path also with benches. I've been going to this park since I was a kid. My children and their friends have played here too. There is a senior area, an area for younger children with swings, slides, and things to climb on, and basketball courts. Nice park but Mount Vernon Recreation Department needs to do a better job on the upkeep of the park. I was there recently for a barbeque and the tables were messy with bird poop, the pavilion and the gazebo needs to be repainted, the bathrooms were not in working condition and forget about the kids park.
