Tasty Budz — Restaurant in City of Mount Vernon

This place needs some work. The food is amazing! I eat here 3 times a week. But their service is so poor. I finally decided to leave a review despite how much I love the food.

1. when you call to order, the owner will pick up the phone talking to you while taking someone’s physical order and tell you mid order “I’ll call you back” and hang up. (So rude) it’s happened a number of times.
2. I switched to ordering on Uber because calling to order was such a hassle. Now when I order on uber , I get home to items missing in my order. When you call them they say “ we will make it up to you ( you don’t know me!) this has happened so many times.
3. when you order, you can wait 2 hrs only to get there and your food isn’t ready.

The food here is amazing. I love Ghanaian food but everything else is so poor. They don’t have a system so it makes getting food here...

My limited knowledge of Ghanaian cuisine did not hinder my appreciation of the fantastic flavors on offer at Tasty Budz. The Jollof and Chicken caught my attention right away and did not disappoint! This is no simple rice dish; it is heavily flavored and cannot be easily dismissed as a side dish! The chicken was also packed with flavor, perfectly tender, and complemented the rice wonderfully.

The "Morning Dew" smoothie was another treat. I don't recall all its ingredients, but the blend of almonds and banana created a creamy, indulgent treat that balanced the spice of the Jollof beautifully.

Tasty Budz is a must-visit, especially if you've never experienced Ghana's culinary landscape! Can't wait...

First time visiting Tasty Budz and it was based off my son's recommendation as he had food delivered to us at home previously. The food was amazing and it was my second foray into West African cuisine. I'm very happy for the owners as I believe they are bringing great food and culture to Mount Vernon. The only feedback I have is the wait for food is extremely long. I imagine that most of the meals take a while to prepare but my son and I waited for nearly an hour for our pickup order, which is way too long. I hope they can find a way to speed up the food preparation or get more people to help out because I'd hate to see them not make it because people get tired of waiting so long for...
