A man made his way north on a bicycle as I awaited the bus out to Fly Street.
I've noticed him at least twenty times before today, on an old bicycle, wearing a proper reflective vest and carrying a fishing net.
He has a proper bike light to illuminate his path.
He rolls on by at almost exactly Six Forty in the morning.
So he must be going to work, probably punching in at Seven.
Why the net for fish?
He doesn't carry a fishing pole that I can see.
He doesn't have much choice for a fishing spot unless he cycles all the way to Onondaga Lake.
I'm not going to stop him on his way because obviously, he's trying to make a destination in time.
It's dark, but I study him carefully for clues as he speeds on by my stop.
He has to be rather physically fit to get that kind of speed out of a bike that old.
He must be good with his hands because I've noticed him for a year and it's the same bike that he's kept on the road.
For now, I have to leave this an open mystery.
Long might he roll.
Maybe I'll see him some time, coming home with a stringer of fish?
I wonder who notices me, with my camera bag over my shoulder and two knit...
