Tremendous potential to be one of the best restaurants in Syracuse. Decent selection of beer, fantastic food but a limited food menu and lackluster service hold it back.
The food was incredible, hands down. The Honey Cajun wings are some of the best I’ve ever had. Size, sauciness, and crunch. A beautiful triumvirate culminating in great wings. Highly recommend.
I had the beef on wick. Great bun and a good amount of meat. Tremendous salt profile that made this a real delight. My significant other had the Pistol Pete which had a good kick of spice without being overly spicy. We both opted for the fries which had a good house spice mix on them - should definitely do. They had pizzas but other than that only 4 sandwiches and 2 salads with some apps and specials.
Where this place excels is the location. How many times have you been able to comfortably sit outside within the city limits at a place with ample parking and on a quiet road. It was peaceful while maintaining the city’s atmosphere in some respects. As the area develops Meier’s will continue to thrive.
My issues are somewhat trivial but easily fixable in order to make this a true 5 out of 5. One of which was that those outside had to go inside to order. I feel as though a single server outside would have been able to accomplish the task of handling orders. Additionally, had to specifically request for waters for the table. Wish there was just a little more attention at the table. The bartenders inside were great and friendly. Overall just think more care for seated customers needs to be addressed.
Will definitely return, and please, for the love of everything that is right and just in this world, get the honey Cajun wings. I would punt a 5th grader if it meant getting to these again. Cheesecake...
Read moreI had a pleasant visit this past sunny Sunday with a friend. She suggested this location while discussing where to stop after a prior excursion. I declined multiple times due to prior experiences. But due to being a Sunday afternoon there were limited choices. I was pleasantly surprised that this visit was much more pleasing. We sat at the bar, service was attentive and friendly. My friend orders my beers, though I enjoy the ambiance of breweries I have a limited palette for beer and am not an avid connoisseur. The Get onto a Cloud was citrusy and light. We ordered the pulled pork nachos which were nothing more than a nacho lovers delight! Fresh ingredients and cheese sauce the pictures speak for themselves! This visit was a complete turn around. The patio was also filled with the beautiful afternoon, so welcoming!
Update on review. Another fun meet up with a friend for a couple of brews and little bite to soak up the suds. I had a hazy citrus blend and my friend a Pilsner. Ambiance fun and friendly as usual. We decided on just the pub fries, but these are no average fries! They are seasoned well, served hot with a relish dipping sauce. Other patrons ordered them next to us and you can smell the aroma of the seasonings as they are served! Service was efficient but there were extra charges on our bill but was quickly rectified. Loved the rainbows painted on the entrances for Pride...
Read moreEdit: Changing my 3/5 star review. Cody was incredibly apologetic to our previous experience and did everything to make the situation right. We went back for the watch party tonight and were able to stay to the end of the game. The service was much better this time! The 2 more junior bartenders were much more attentive and energetic this week. The lead bartender was incredibly energetic and friendly. Made such a difference. The food was also excellent. They even offered to let us all get another round as consolation for losing even though the game went later than planned. Would definitely recommend!
Came here specifically for the "bills game watch party." The food was good. Service was not great. At the start of the game I hear one of the junior bartenders ask the senior bartender how late they have to stay. His answer verbatum was "were supposed to stay open until the end of the game but I don't want to be here so we're closing on time." Barely took any drink orders after 7pm and did last call at 8pm. They started mopping up at 7:15 and were putting chairs on tables by 8:15 so we had to leave at the start of the 3rd quarter in the divisional championship! Incredibly disappointing false advertising. Will not be back. Have some respect for our lord and savior Josh...
