While traveling for work for the last 5 years, anytime I finish a job early, I try to visit a local park(wherever I may be). I love parks that offer privacy, seclusion, and give you an overall “removed from the city” feeling. This park hit a home run for me. It’s absolutely beautiful and definitely gave me that “alone in the world” feeling I’m always hunting for. Entrance is a little confusing, as you have to make a right at the fork in the road in an industrial complex kinda area. Just stay on the gravel road until you reach the end where there is a pavilion with a house behind it. You will pass by a fenced in area and an old farm house before you get there. I hit “satellite” on google maps and it helped me. If you’re looking for what I’m looking for in a park, you won’t be disappointed!

If you go to this dog park be careful of a Doberman with a red collar like the one in these pictures. That dog attacked my sweet baby unprovoked today at the dog park. As you can see she has a bite mark on her back. If I had not grabbed her, it could have been way worse. Other owner first of all let his dog in the dog park while she was in heat. And the dog lunged at my dog for no reason and started biting her. My dog is the sweetest dog and only weighs 40 pounds. The owner said his dog weighs at least 100 pounds. Be careful or this dog could attack your dog unprovoked too.

After turning from Ridge Road onto northbound Frederick Road, this Ridge Road Recreational Park locates on the right hand side. There are two entrances. There are three baseball/softball fields (#1, #2, #3), two soccer/football fields (#4, #5), one in-line hockey rink, basketball, tennis, volleyball, picnic areas and shelters, playgrounds, dog park, and restrooms.

This park is phenomenal! I love the open space and the parking design to encourage you to walk and take in the fresh air and enjoy the beautiful greenery. I love the fact that the playground is a bit hidden and off the main road of sorts. The park is well maintained. In my opinion and has plenty of spots where you can have a family gathering, where it's not competing with other gathering. I would have liked more play grounds for the children. And maybe an enclosed dog park that would just set this park over the top. You might have a dog park, but I didn't see it. It's beautiful, it's peaceful and I...
