173° Craft Distillery — Attraction in Clear Lake

We’ve been in Clear Lake a few times within the last few months and we’ve tried to have drinks or eat at 173 Craft Distilleries each time. Tonight…. I can’t tell you if the drinks are cold or the food was good simply because the clientele there was so unbelievably rude we decided to take our business and checkbooks elsewhere. We were met by a younger guy who said, “if you want food, you’re gonna have to order down here cause we’re short staffed and we’re not going to run upstairs to wait on you.” Even that wasn’t enough to make us leave, but when my husband approached the owner and his reply to a question was, “if you don’t like it, oh well”. Well sir, oh well, we will never attempt to visit your establishment again. And it’s obvious why there were a whopping 4 other tables of people in the entire place. If you’re visiting Clear Lake, don’t bother visiting this establishment as they self proclaim they are short staffed and also very rude!

Won the Harvest Festival prize, but boy was I excited after we had gone there for the tasting!!! I went for the tasting and I had the gin and rum. It was the best gin I've ever had. And I have had up to 20 gins (overall, lush much?) I had planned on going back for a bottle of gin, but won the prize!!! I'm not a vodka person, but this place is known for it's vodka, truly, I had many people ask me for my vodka bottle. I had the spiced rum, which was good, but not as good as a more Spicer rum I prefer (Caribbean is what I prefer, if you like a lighter spiced rum, this place is perfect for you!) The service was amazing. The prize was full with 3 full bottles of gin, vodka, and spiced rum. It had a flask, a shirt, and a gift card. Entirely...

Well, what a disappointment. The place is beautiful, and coming from Scottsdale has high expectations. When we got in, the staff in the bar wore talking and completely ignored us. There were only 2 people in the bar, and the waiters did not make eye contact for over 12 mts. They proceeded to start cleaning. We asked for help, and she asked if you had been helped? The manu has 6 items, and they wore out of 2 pizza and egg rolls. They only have pretzels and wings.??? No music and the service was horrible they wore more Intrested in cleaning and talking to eachother. They make us feel like we wore a nuisance.
