Holyland International Import Supermarket — Attraction in Cleveland

What an amazing store! As an "eastsider" I would never have known this place existed if not for the suggestion made during a chance meeting in another store. We traded stories about our mutual love of olives and the best place to buy them. Well, I was not disappointed! There is very little you can't find there. They do, indeed, have a wonderful array of olives at extremely good prices, but SO much more. I couldn't pass on the amazing cuts of lamb, and fluffy soft naan. But the topper was finding the small eggplants of my youth! I can't wait to dig up my mom's old recipe for stuffed Sicilian eggplant. This store is a treasure, and we're already making our list to return. BTW, the staff is absolutely exceptional: some of the friendliest, informed and welcoming guys I've ever encountered in a retail environment. They're probably 60% of the reason...

This store is selling OVERPRICED garbage. Don't go here. There were three dudes behind the register twiddling their thumbs. The aloof clerk lets four customers cut me before getting to me, then says I should've said something about it. Afterwards he proceeds to have an attitude issue about where the total price was shown saying I should've bent down to look at the screen. "You're not tall, you need to come down." Apparently their customers don't really know the basic concept of a line at a register so I'm having a hard time trusting these other reviews. So if you're an educated and cultured person this place is not for you. ...And to that clerk who served me, you can stick the garbage you guys sell up where the sun...

This is a wonderful store! They carry items from around the world, not just the holy land. The staff are always very personable and friendly. They have a huge selection of spices, meats, cheeses and rice that you can't find anywhere else. It doesn't matter if you're white, black, brown, gay or straight. The employees at this store treat EVERYONE with great respect. I'm American and I've been shopping there for many years. I've often had questions that I thought were kind of silly, but they answer the questions in such a courteous manner and have always offered their help. I truly think this is the best market in town.
