I recently visited Karamu House Theatre and had a truly memorable experience. The moment I walked in, I was struck by its welcoming, creative energy. The performance I saw was powerful and thought-provoking, with excellent acting, direction, and production quality. The theater space itself felt warm and intimate, making the audience feel really connected to the story on stage. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere was inclusive and culturally rich. It’s clear that Karamu House is a special place that values artistic excellence and community. I highly recommend catching...

Being at the Karamu House brings me so much joy! Just knowing that so much wonderful talent started there is exciting! The remodeling to the building is absolutely gorgeous! Last week I went to see the play Called SISTAS and when I tell you it was nothing less than amazing! I also volunteered for the opening night of the film festival and what a great experience it was. My goal is to audition this upcoming season to be in one of the stage plays. The Karamu House also offers to rent spaces out for your special events! Thank you to the Karamu House and everyone that is behind the scenes...

Very lovely theater. I enjoyed the experience I had at the Karamu House. I arrived ten minutes late and was politely escorted to my seat when the timing was right. Viewing a performance of Elton John and Tim Rice’s version of ā€œAida," left me amazed and entertained. The actors were lucid and energetic. For a play, that I believe lasted two hours, had gone by so fast due to the actors never letting a moment get dull. And overall I recommend everyone visit the Karamu House at least once, the music, choreography, and...

I received really friendly, professional, and down to earth service. The passion for theater, and respect for black heritage was felt, & appreciatiated. I enjoyed the play, and laughed. The term of today, is racial appropriation. My 15 year old daughter taught me it. āœŠšŸ½ Racial appropriation is the practice of taking elements from a minority culture without acknowledgment or respect, especially by members of a dominant culture. It can involve a lack of understanding of the historical context of the culture being appropriated

Dear Mr. Moodie, thank you for making tap available to the Cleveland community at the Karamu House. Your contributions to the tap dance community in Northeast Ohio has enriched lives over many decades and generations in keeping tap alive. You are always on time, professional, kind and pushing us to do better. The music is always the best part. I am grateful for this older adult tap class at Karamu!
