Celebrated our 14th anniversary here on a visit to Cleveland. We did the chef's table experience here and it was a memorable time. Chef Zachary Bond oversaw the entire meal and created an amazing five course meal on the fly for us. He even switched up our seafood entree course after learning we were from South Carolina and it was flawless.
Appetizer: The charcuterie board had sopressata paired with a classic soft cheese, locally harvested honeycomb, marcona almonds, fresh berries and olives, and a thinly sliced but hearty grain and seed toast.
Salad: Watercress salad with radish, blue cheese, and a black garlic vinaigrette.
Seafood: Originally would have been a red snapper dish, but Chef Zachary decided to pay homage to our Southern roots and gave us a blackened striped sea bass with blue cheese grits, collard greens cooked with turkey instead of pork, and a cajun cream sauce. This was divine and impressive for being thought up on the spot.
Meat: Prime ribeye and filet cooked perfectly medium rare served with winter root veggies and asparagus with a red pepper sauce. We also had some parmesan and sun dried tomato risotto, sliced roasted fingerling potatoes, and a palate cleansing herb garnish with balsamic reduction.
Dessert: The pastry chef created an apple cider flan that was delicate but bold with thinly sliced apples underneath with berry garnish. It was exceptional. We also had creme brulee that was simple but stellar with that perfectly caramelized hard top. We dug in before realizing we had forgotten photos, so apologies for the half-eaten pics of these items.
Each plating was well thought out and intentional. It's clear that Zachary takes great care in providing an experience for his customers. His sous chefs work very well together in the kitchen and it was really fun getting to watch them behind the scenes.
If you're inclined, they will also pair a cocktail or wine with each course and I have no doubt the pairings will be superb.
If you want a unique experience in Cleveland run by an expert chef who knows how to combine ingredients into a special plate that will excite your tastebuds and put a smile on your face, then look no further than Table 45 and Chef Zachary and his team.

For Valentine’s Day, the restaurant had crafted a special menu that showcased their culinary creativity. We began our meal with an exquisite appetizer that featured a beautifully presented charcuterie board, complete with a selection of artisanal cheeses, cured meats, and house-made spreads. Each bite was a treat, and it was the perfect way to start our romantic evening.
Moving on to the main courses, we were thoroughly impressed with the options available. I opted for the pan-seared scallops, which were cooked to perfection—tender and flavorful, served atop a bed of creamy risotto and accompanied by seasonal vegetables. The combination of flavors was delightful, and each component of the dish complemented the others beautifully.
My partner chose the filet mignon, which was equally impressive. Cooked to the desired level of doneness, it was succulent and rich, paired with a red wine reduction that added depth to the dish. The sides were equally delicious, enhancing the overall experience.
To finish our meal, we couldn’t resist the dessert options. We shared a decadent chocolate lava cake that was rich and indulgent, with a molten center that flowed out when cut. It was the perfect sweet ending to a lovely evening, especially when paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Throughout the night, the ambiance remained perfect for romance. The soft music and tasteful decor created an inviting atmosphere that made our Valentine’s celebration feel truly special.

Read moreYou would think this restaurant would be accommodating due to the Cleveland Clinic being attached. Though they claimed they could help us, they didn't follow through until repeated requests. First, we had been seated for over 10 min before anyone came over to welcome us to the restaurant. When the waitress finally came over, she introduced herself, and said she'd bring water over and asked if we would like anything besides water. 2 out of 4 of us ordered drinks from the bar. She came back another 15 min later with the two drinks, but still no water. We had to ask 3 times before we got our first glass of water. The menu. Everything sounded great but one person in our party was just discharged from the hospital and on a strict diet. She requested a plain pasta dish with chicken and no vegetables or garnish. This week was also restaurant week where they have a 3 course meal for a set price. However, she didn't tell us they were out of their main course until we tried to order it. She then described the "new" dish as a pasta with cream sauce. It sounded good so that's what we ordered. While waiting for our meals, and watching other dishes come out of the kitchen, we reminded the waitress again that we could have no garnish on our pasta. When the meals came out, all dishes had garnish mixed in, and the "cream sauce" was actually a pepper puree. We sent back one of the pastas since she couldn't eat it and the rest of us ate our meal, after asking another server for silverware. The incorrect dish didn't come out until we were all finished our meal and ready for dessert. The waitress brought out new desert menus forgetting we had ordered desert as part of restaurant week. We reminded her again of what we had ordered. By the time desert was brought out, the wrong deserts were served.
Unfortunately, our waitress delivered a bad experience this evening. I'd steer clear...
