Update: DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FROM HERE. After finally sending the laptop back and getting the new one today after sending returning the wrong laptop 2 weeks ago... NO JOKE, Got the same exact freaking laptop I sent back with the receipt I put with it. Dropping to 1 star. I know this is a volunteer group but I'm concerned no one cares and just throws out whatever and hopes you shut up about it and just accept it while the scam you out of the add ons you paid for but they have no intentions of giving to you. The only good thing about this place is the one lady who seemed to care while no one else did was super nice and tried to help me. Everyone else I tried talking to either didn't respond to me or just gave me the I'll get back to you and didn't even bother to refer to me by name, just by my email which was very unprofessional and made me feel like they really don't care. I'm pretty sure they don't at this point. I just want my money back after this nightmare has been dragged out for 2 months and I don't think I'm ever going to get the laptop I ordered. Never order from here, the people responsible for handling shipping don't have a clue what they're doing or care if you get the right order or not. The only safe way to buy from these people is in person so you can clearly see what you are actually getting.
Currently giving 3 stars. I ordered an HP laptop with add-ons and about 3 weeks later receiced a Dell with the bare basics and no add-ons. Spent awhile on hold before getting to anyone. The guy was nice about it that I spoke with and said they would send me a return shipping label so I could return the Dell laptop and they would send me the correct laptop, though they don't know what happened since it shows my laptop hasn't been shipped yet, but I received this one. That was a week ago and when I asked about getting the label, I was originally told I'd get it within the hour to being told the person who handles shipping labels is out and was be uncertain when I'd get the return label. I just want the laptop...

TLDR- company sent a replacement Laptop for one they lost and the replacement stopped working in 5 months. Company refuses to replace. (See screenshot of their response. Sorry I’m upset-lol)
The company is supposed to help lower income people but instead it’s robbing them. Save your money slowly and spend somewhere else.
I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB
Extended explanation below - this is the email I sent requesting assistance to make the situation RIGHT AND FAIR
Back in 2023 I purchased a laptop that stopped functioning. I called into support and was told that I could MAIL IN the laptop for it to be repaired. I did so and then once it was there I was told this isn't possible because the laptop was already out of warranty. I can't recall if I asked to pay for repairs or Not but the outcome was the laptop was to be sent back to me.
The shipping department sent the laptop to my old address and the laptop was lost.
I worked with your support department for a couple Of months and eventually a new laptop was sent to me in January of this year as a replacement. I was grateful for my lost laptop to have been replaced.
Five months after receiving the laptop it stopped turning on. I emailed or called support (I can't remember which) and was then told the laptop has no warranty and although it had only worked for FIVE MONTHS there was nothing that can be done. (That email is attached). Even went as far as suggesting I PURCHASE another laptop.
Your program is amazing. And the people That are serviced are low income. If I had the option to Purchase another laptop I surely would've done so MONTHS ago to avoid the time it has taken out of my life to deal with this.
I am not asking for anything more than a laptop that should last at least 2 years. I don't think that is an unreasonable ask. I would like to be able to MAIL this laptop in to have it repaired. I am not local To your state. I...
Read moreEDIT: the Cleveland email address just responded with a very kind email that they're shipping a replacement and return label. I updated stars from 1 to 3 and will update again based on the outcome. Thank you for getting back to me!! I ordered a hotspot and all of that process went well. I was approved quickly and the device shipped quickly. It arrived July 3, I was out of town, returned July 6 and plugged it in and accessed the internet. Very quickly the device became very hot and within two hours, while plugged in, had drained to 0%. I called, left a voicemail, and emailed because the shipping info made it clear I only have 7 days for a full return...
I plugged the device back in while turned off, It took 36 hours to charge to 100%. I try to access the internet. Within 20 minutes it's super hot to the touch. I unplug it. Within an hour the device drained from 100% to 36%. It never cooled down. I turned it off.
Over five days I emailed internet@pcsforpeople.org, info@pcsforpeople.org, sales@pcsforpeople.org and received no response. I just found another email address, Cleveland@pcsforpeople.org and emailed there. I have repeatedly called the St. Paul and Cleveland phone numbers, no one answered and Cleveland's voicemail box is full. I have Facebook messaged and no response (though that was only an hour ago).
I've had friends with really great experiences with this org and I still really want to them. But I just started a temporary and remote job and need the internet. If they'd called me back or returned my emails on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, I'd likely be receiving a new hot spot by tomorrow. Instead I'm sitting here frantically trying to get ahold of them while figuring out whose house I can sit outside for ten hours a day five days a week so I can...
