Fri 9/2/22 2:10pm Myself and my Client, went to the restaurant. I immediately noticed the man coming out of the back carrying a big pan of cornbeef with gloves on. The man end up being the person that handles the meat and prepares the 1st step with the sandwich (put the meat on the bread) So I watched him with the same gloves go under the cabinet, grab something, then start handling the meat again. When it was my turn in line, I politely asked the cashier if she could ask the man to change his gloves. The man yelled very defensively and said "I'm not changing my gloves." Then the cashier said " you can take it or leave it." In astonishment, I replied like: "yeah ill take it," because I knew my client was hungry. Then this lady comes from the back saying , what's the problem he's only touching meat." I said "idk what he's been touching In the back and unless it's meat under that cabinet, he should Change his gloves." By now our sandwiches are opened faced on the counter. The lady from the back leaned over our food and inconspicuously spit on both our sandwiches. I couldn't believe it! In disbelief, I pointed and yelled You just spit on my food. The lady never denied it. She just yell "bye, give her a refund, see this is why we should have closed at 2 o'clock." I told the other customers don't let them serve you those sandwiches because she spit on them. Wow I never experienced anything like this in my life. I was spending $32 on 2 junior cornbeefs and 2 drinks. I was looking forward to eating their food, but I will never eat there again, and if you the reader decides to go there please tell them to change their gloves after every encounter other than the food. No one there was apologetic and know one seem to care that I even accused the lady of spitting on my food which makes me think they do it all...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer of Superior Restaurant for 18 years...I don't go everyday or even once a month but at least three times a year...especially when I want a corned beef omelet. Unfortunately, last weekend will be the last time I go back. They had to redo the omelet three times and by time it was brought back half way correct (the cheese was melted on top with some grilled onions - not the normal way they usually do it because they messed up the first one; no onions and no Swiss cheese) the eggs were rubbery. Needless to say my friend no longer had a taste for a corned beef omelet and didn't eat it. We requested that the amount be deducted from the bill...you would have thought we asked for a kidney! We got yelled at and told not to come back (they won't have to worry about that). The waitress got the order wrong...we asked that one omelet have half American and half Swiss cheese with onions (she has been ordering that for years). I got the onions (which I didn't order) and she got no onions and only American cheese. I couldn't believe it when the waitress brought it back to our table wrong again...could she not see that there was still American cheese on top and not Swiss (one is orange colored and the other is white)? Was she scared to say to the cook that it was still wrong. I think they should have jumped on her and not us.
They said they are not going to make any more special order omelet anymore ...excuse me, on the menu it states that you can add cheese and onions...am I missing something?
Don't worry, after 18 years we will...
Read moreI'm a big fan of Pho and Vietnamese food in general and have enjoyed it in a number of cities including San Francisco, Toronto and New York. I did my research before a recent trip to Cleveland and read the reviews on the various pho places in town, and people raved about Superior Pho. I certainly had high hopes but frankly it fell short on a number of counts. The first thing I noticed was that the sprouts weren't as fresh as they should have been. The tips were brown on most of them to the point that if I were cooking with them I'd at least have trimmed off the ends but preferably I'd find fresher sprouts and use them before they got to that point. Next I noticed the noodles sat in one lump at the bottom of the bowl. Bad sign, that means they were pre-cooked and sat in a strainer where they cooled and congealed. Jabbing it with my spoon for a while loosened them but hey, if I wanted to jab noodles I'd have a 40 cent pack of ramen instead. Given that this was a weekday during lunchtime I consider this inexcusable. And finally, the broth, while having the right flavors in it, was more watery than it should have been. I've had better pho in a number of places in Pittsburgh, including "Vietnam's Pho," Tram's,...
