Starship Earth — Attraction in Cleveland

Went in to get an outfit for my bf; never again. 1st off I'll say the young woman who was there, super nice and helpful so nothing im about to say applies to her. Who i assume is the owner was on the phone when we walked in, no biggie, the younger woman tried to help us and let us know it was her 1st day (when this store goes out of business someone should hire her, she was as helpful as she could be with not knowing the inventory) and the owner wouldn't answer any of her questions, even point in the right direction. I thought at first she was just trying to help the new girl learn the store until she got off the phone and I asked about her opinion on what mask would match my dress and she just says "the masks are in front of you" in a snippy tone. Yeah obviously, but there's like 50 and they're staked so since it's YOUR STORE I was asking if there was something she knew of that might match that wasn't jumping out at me. Theres also a sign that says no customers behind the counter which is where all of the costums are hung on the wall, like a closet, not desplay- so you HAVE to have help. Which the owner wasnt giving and it sounds like this is a common theme with her since reading other reviews. Oh and it gets worse, we still ended up picking out an outfit for my bf and we go to check out & the owner says they DONT rent (BS everything looks severely used, not like aesthetic either) and then tried to say "this is usually $350 but I'll sell it to you for $190". it was all I could do not to laugh in her face or ask if she was joking. There was 2 of them and they both looked very used and like they'd been washed several times. Certainly not new, and absolutely not worth $190, I can find stuff on Amazon for less than 1/2 that if i want high quality, significantly less if I want cheap. I just wanted to support a local business but they convinced me of otherwise after 10 minutes in the store. I hope the woman who's 1st day it was finds a job before this...

Went in on 10/29 to find a masquerade mask. They have 100s of them. They were very busy, understandable. I was willing to be patient. One gentleman was nice. He grabbed some out for me. I said please help someone else I can wait. I had the time to wait. In waiting a another lady came over and took another row out. I tried on a few didn’t like but was interested in seeing more. I had one on and the lady comes back to tell me I need to decide. Taken back I said “this is not how this works, what kind of customer service is this?” Note: I have been in customer service for over 15 years. She said “yes, that’s how it is”. I guess you don’t have the right to find what you are looking for or take your time. Come to find she is the owner. She’s rude, understaffed and beyond unprofessional. Needless to say I walked out angry and shocked beyond belief....

Went here the other day to look for a costume with my significant other. The owner didn’t acknowledge us and said she was busy trying to figure out something that went wrong with a shipment. We told her we were looking for medieval costumes and she just said “okay” and continued to do what she was doing. Anyway, we left, and said “Thank you for your help” as we were leaving. I rarely leave reviews but the customer service was incredibly poor. I know things happen; however, if things were that bad that you couldn’t help us, then you should have closed for the night.
