I had such a great time on the Southern Michigan Railroad’s Fall Colors Tour! The ride from Tecumseh to Clinton takes about 45 minutes and is absolutely beautiful—especially with all the autumn leaves. I rode in the open-air gondola car, which made it even more fun and scenic. The conductor and crew were friendly, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel welcome. When we stopped in Clinton, they even served apple cider at the station, which was a really nice touch. The train boards right at the corner of Evans Street and M-50 in Tecumseh, and it’s an easy spot to find. It’s a great outing for all ages—families, couples, or anyone who just wants to enjoy a relaxing, nostalgic ride through the countryside. I’d definitely recommend it to everyone. If there’s a chance of rain, though, bring a poncho if you’re riding in the open car!

We went with another couple. The train was loaded yet we had tons of fun. Chip, the conductor had tons of stories and jokes. Its too bad mother nature wasn't on board with the leaves. The town has a bunch of interesting shops and restaurants. There's a store front full of old tools, a hobby shop, doll store, antiques dealer and a Hotdog shop that allows the train patrons to use the restrooms. Very friendly atmosphere all around!

My wife, and three friends all rode this and we had a great trip. The route was very scenic and passed through historic downtown Tecumseh, wooded areas, fields and through marshes. The crew was friendly and it was nice seeing such historical equipment being used. We will be coming back and riding this great little railroad again!

The Southern Michigan Railroad Society offers a delightful experience for train enthusiasts and anyone looking to enjoy the scenic beauty of southern Michigan. 🚂🌳

🌟 Mill Pond Flyer: I had the pleasure of taking a ride on the Mill Pond Flyer, a 45-minute journey through the picturesque southern Michigan countryside with stunning views of Red Millpond. Whether you choose the Open-Air Gondola or the historic New York Central Bay Window Caboose, the experience is truly memorable.

🚆 Trains, Trucks, & More!: The annual Trains, Trucks, & More event promises an exciting day with FREE admission, train rides, classic cars, emergency equipment displays, model trains, and more! 🎉 Don't miss the horn blast celebration at noon. It's a fantastic family day out!

💰 John H. Emery Rail Heritage Trust: The grant of $10,000 towards the preservation of the 'Emerald Vale' sleeper car is a testament to the commitment to preserving the "Golden Age" of railway travel. 🛌🚆

🚧 Upcoming 2024 Season: I'm eagerly awaiting updates on your upcoming 2024 season, and I'm sure many others are too! 🗓️

🎉 40th Anniversary: Congratulations on your 40th anniversary! The new website is a great addition, providing real-time ticket information and more. 🎂🌐

This was a charming little train ride that allowed us an opportunity to kick off the holidays in style. The train is clean and comfortable, the adjustable benches in the commuter car were a nice bonus, allowing us to change the configuration so we could all sit together. The kids loved meeting the folks who took us on our train ride, and having Santa greet the train on arrival was a wonderful surprise. Everything was well organized, though the gift shop was a little small for the number of folks trying to pass through with only a single door and a small lobby, but that was one small issue on an otherwise delightful holiday trip. We will definitely be booking another trip...
