Most of the time I am in that plaza for Wal-Mart. I had noticed the new Indian Store. (It wasn't 3 days ago it's been about 2 wks since I had the time to visit the store. I was not happy with the atmosphere. The two women upfront were timid. I wasn't greeted when I came in. A lot of the prices were not posted so, I had to go to the register and ask how much things cost. Most of the merchandise seemed over priced. They did not post information about most products in English. Most was written in an Indian or Asian language. The women seemed as if the were being forced to work in the store. The one sitting near the door looked sad. I did not make a purchase. If the atmosphere had been a little more friendly, I would have considered going back when as I have some extra money. It felt like I was being watched. The men kept coming through the tiny store. I feel that it was because of my race. I refuse to shop where I am stereotyped. Everyone whose Black does not steal. They crammed too many things on the shelves, so it looked kinky, low class. I would not recommend it to anyone. Wal Mart and the Family Dollar are the best stores up there. The other nice stores and restaurants left the plaza. They were replaced by a lot of second hand stores. Maybe they were dealing with thefts like the Wal Mart?, or the rent was too high? I don't really know why they left. You can reach the plaza from many directions, including the RR Hwy. That area is actually Grosbeck not...
Read moreOffers ample parking. Never seen it too full. Negatives are that the stores arent promoted that well. Perhaps that's on the stores, but the signs (that tell u what stores are there) need to be revamped. The seafood place is really good. U wud never guess it by the outside. City trends is in the back. I havent went in yet, but that could change if I saw sme spark generated to pull me in. Maybe it's because of the pandemic, idk. The walmart people are actually pretty good. Ms. Keke at the self-serve register's is A-1 at interacting with the public. The lady at register 19 (where the cigarettes are, on early mornings) is also a treasure, and knows EVERYTHING abt local/national news/gossip. I love going thru her line lol. Also....the automotive guys dont give u any trouble abt going to their register with non-automotive items when the front lines are full (they cant take produce though!), just dont go back with a full cart lol. Certain folks in Electronics arent always as accommodating....... I could do a review on every store, but I've already written a 📖. So I'll just end by saying treat it as a neighborhood store, get to know the employees/owners (most have been there over a decade), and accept it for what it is. I just got here in may and am enjoying getting to know the...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to see "Top Gun Maverick" an excellent opportunity to once again see on a movie on a wide screen. the pandemic really decimated the customer base and the direct result is an aggravation free experience. The popcorn is good and they have no objection to people bringing in their own water. The snack bar can get a little backed up close to the movie start time. On the whole this was a good experience at the Xscape Northgate theatre. No major or minor complaints about the condition of the facilities. Restrooms were clean, wife was happy and she liked the movie. Doesn't get...
