Dropped off a Microsoft Surface Pro Studio. Had to reach out to them multiple times to see if it was ready. First, they said they needed to wait until their expert got in the next day. Then they said they were going to order two parts that wouldnât get in for five more days, but admitted they hadnât even looked at it to diagnose problem. We asked to just do that before waiting for any parts and they did , and they do after this conversation. They learned it was a rare part a they couldnât get it in without purchasing over seas and significant delays (not their fault, but based on our description of the issue they could have been upfront about this).
When we got the machine back, there was visible bending damage along the edges and bottom of the computer clearly made by a tool they used to pry computer open and now it doesnât seal or close fully. On top of that, the original issue is far more exasperated after they âtried to fixâ it than before. The device is in far worse shape coming away from this store than it was going in.
All along, it seemed as though they were not familiar with this device and over promised their ability to repair it. We felt as though we were getting the run around the entire process. I would not use this store again based on the state of the computer, the lack of communication throughout the process, and a general inability to communicate their knowledge limitations with this device upfront.
UPDATE: After escalating to regional manager, the company took no responsibility and just pointed to contract. Store manager rationalized after the fact that âdamage to the device is inevitable if opened upâ. Basically, they didnât admit they werenât skilled enough to repair the computer (but advertised otherwise) and worked on it anyhow and then caused nearly $400 more damage to the exterior.
They offered a screen protector as a condolence prize after escalating and fell back on the contract that waives any liability. Nothing to make it right for their errors when they could have just turned us away and said they donât work in these types of computers.
We took the device to UbreakiFix instead and they repaired the original problem as well as the damage CPR incurred. Excellent customer service and...
Read moreI was overcharged for a repair that I never received and only got a partial refund a few months later. I thought I needed a new charger port on my phone and they said they also HAD TO charge me for a new screen since there was a chance they might break it during the repair. They charged me $180 plus tax and then failed to call me when the part came in. I then had to leave town for the holidays and when I got back I then came down with pneumonia. While I was recovering I figured out that I didn't need the port but that I needed a new battery instead. I tried to communicate with them through emails because I had no voice but half of the time I would never get a response. After a month of emails they finally agreed to order the battery. They said it would be discounted $20 for the hassle but never told me what the new charge was or if I was owed any money back. Out of curiosity I called the other CPRs and they also said that there is a chance of breaking the screen but that I would only be charged for it if it did break and that it would only cost $30 and the battery repair through them would only cost $80. I asked about the port cost and it would have been $90 or $95 plus tax. So I should've been owed back $120. I wasn't happy but I figured that since my part was already ordered I might as well just let them fix it. Cut to 3 weeks later and my part had still not arrived. When I called they said it was coming in a bit later than planned but that it would be in no later than a few days from then. I gave it over another week and still nothing. So now it had been over a month with no word on my battery. So I finally went to get a refund and they claimed that i had previously bought a phone case with my repair which isn't true! They quoted me $180 for the repair. I paid $180 but now they claimed the repair cost was $140 so they refused to refund me $40. I would never buy a phone case from a store when I can get the same case for less online. Plus I don't even think they carry phone cases for my model of phone!! I was a loyal customer and I had been getting phones repaired by them for several years and this is what I get.
Edit: This is regarding the store on N. Academy. Avoid this location at all costs!

Read moreGratefully I walked out of here, $150 later, with a working phone with all my data. HOWEVER, their customer service was poor and their work ethic is questionable. Their prices are too high for what they actually do.
I took my phone with a blacked out screen to get the data backed up, extracted, retrieved etc... when I picked it up the first time, they said my data was exported to the SD card, when I tried to import it, the data was from 2008, not 2014! I showed the tech and he said he couldn't do anything about it, although I had paid $80 to get my data, assuming all current data on the phone, right?
I also spoke with 3 different gentlemen, who kept giving me their version of what they thought I had requested, although the invoice clearly read "wants phone data". I was asked to take a USB drive so they could back up the phone data to it and then I would be responsible to do the rest. No bueno.
Two days after, I took them a new phone in order to switch screens and get my OLD phone back with the data. Of course it worked, so all the other BS they did and charged me for was for nothing.
I got charged $55 for the screen switch, when a video on Youtube shows that it only takes 7 minutes to do this. I still have the flash drive with ALL my info, sure... it's nothing that I couldn't have done if I would have connected my phone to my PC and copied the folders.
The only reason they charge me $55 was because I "sold" them my 1 year old T-Mobile My Touch Slider with accessories and in the box for $20!!!! yeah $20! I wonder how much they are selling it for....
The unfortunate part about this, is that this place is about the only place in Colorado Springs where you can take your phone to get fixed... I couldn't find anywhere else to take it but here.
Crossing my fingers for no more...
