Yes, I am a real person. Rampart Park is a lovely place. It's an almost perfect example of a semi-arid climate contrasting to a small wetland. There's varieties of animals here, from the common cricket, hares, and small birds, but is also a known home of others such as falcons or snakes. The main problem is the lack of respect for this environment in which many people and animals enjoy and depend upon. You'll find a lot here. Cattails, Pine trees, Oak trees, many species of grasses and shrubs, and of course, those trees everyone sees but no one knows the name of. I only wish it was bigger. I love seeing the animals, even the grasshoppers have entirely different personalities from those found in common areas. Also...

Great place to being your fur baby! Big enough to let them run around, but small enough to keep on eye on them wherever they are. Water has been removed, so bring a water bottle with you (water bowls are provided at the park). Ground is mostly sand which provides a soft landing for dogs that like to wrestle, but if your dog has a lighter-colored coat be prepared for it to be a little darker when you leave! There's a little obstacle course in the back and seating around the edge of the whole park. There is a sign on the front that says you're required to have your dog spayed or neutered to enter, but I can't say whether or not it's followed by everyone. Regardless, it's definitely worth checking out...

Best disc golf course in the area not only for nice hole layout, but the views at golden hour sunset are unbelievable with pikes peak right in front of you. When I visit my family in Colorado I'm here pretty much every other day all year round. You can take the pups and run them off leash nobody shouts at you people are cool about it locals are super friendly, holes are starting to back up just a little bit more because of the popularity of the sport now. Do yourself a favor and write your name and phone number on the bottom of your discs, people are super cool about texting when they...

A beautiful little park with a wide open flat field. The grass is so green in the summer. Lots of sports teams practice on this field. We set off some small rockets in the middle of this field. There is a perfect 180 degree view of the mountain range and Pikes Peak. There is also a view of Garden of the Gods from the center field. A very popular place after 5pm. We arrived a little bit before 5 when there was no one and about 20 minutes later there were no parking spots left.

Each year the park gets a little bit better. This park has everything you need to have a great day with your furry family member. Benches to sit on, dog water spots with running water, plenty of open space, obstacles, and shade when needed. My Shepherd loves it. Remember to pick up after your dog and if you are new, don't just let your pet run free while you are on your phone. There are park rules for a reason.

Lots of things to do: dog park, fun playground bmx park, disc golf, hiking, geocaching. While my partner takes a nap, my daughter loves to give me a heart attack by making me run up and down the grassy hill (fair, I know), but I'll do anything to hear her laugh! Sitting comfortably at the top of the hill, overlooking the city towards the mountains after playing is so worth it. Very peaceful.
