Read moreYes, I am a real person. Rampart Park is a lovely place. It's an almost perfect example of a semi-arid climate contrasting to a small wetland. There's varieties of animals here, from the common cricket, hares, and small birds, but is also a known home of others such as falcons or snakes. The main problem is the lack of respect for this environment in which many people and animals enjoy and depend upon. You'll find a lot here. Cattails, Pine trees, Oak trees, many species of grasses and shrubs, and of course, those trees everyone sees but no one knows the name of. I only wish it was bigger. I love seeing the animals, even the grasshoppers have entirely different personalities from those found in common areas. Also...
Great place to being your fur baby! Big enough to let them run around, but small enough to keep on eye on them wherever they are. Water has been removed, so bring a water bottle with you (water bowls are provided at the park). Ground is mostly sand which provides a soft landing for dogs that like to wrestle, but if your dog has a lighter-colored coat be prepared for it to be a little darker when you leave! There's a little obstacle course in the back and seating around the edge of the whole park. There is a sign on the front that says you're required to have your dog spayed or neutered to enter, but I can't say whether or not it's followed by everyone. You can take the pups and run them off leash nobody shouts at you people are cool about it locals are super friendly, holes are starting to back up just a little bit more because of the popularity of the sport now.
