We have come here for the last five years, since my Shepard was 6 months old. It is need for the weak and fragile of canines. There is a wide variety of patrons with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Unfortunately, not all of the tend to their dogs and occasional bullying happens. I have only seen a few fights, but that was from frequent fliers and other frequent fliers who just weren't feeling it that day. My dog has had a few rough spells, but always stood her ground and the others backed down. Now on to the good stuff. The lot is huge and has a variety of obstacles and plenty of donated balls to be found. It is fenced in and has a few trees, but mostly open. The ground I'd a combination of weeds, sand and clay, nothing too rough on the paws. There are several watering points and you can usually find a doo doo bag incase you forgot yours, but bring a few extra never hurts. During the summer the water is turned on and you can refill the bowls, but during the winter everyone donates to the cause. There are a few occasional drop and shops. I recommend reminding them it is required to be with your pets at all times. They usually look surprised and embarrassed and wait several months before doing it again. Be polite and considerate of others. This is always and has always been the theme. That is what makes...
Read moreI swear this is the best dog park I've ever been to. They constantly upgrade and maintain the area. The dog owners are friendly and have greatly trained pets. There's a ton of space and multiple types of terrain. They have dirt, sand, wod chips, and grass. There's a small section of acrobatic spots with 4 tractor tires making a tunnel, a "hoop" like structure (6 in. high) for them to jump through, and an A frame ladder. There are multiple logs spaced around too.
Let's not forget the doggy bag and water spots. Each fence has doggy bags which are donated by the community. I once used a used Tortilla bag to pick up the objective. They also recently installed a human/dog friend water fountain which automatically drains after a few minutes. There are plenty of community water bowls scattered around too.
My favorite part are these 2. I've seen either the park owner or community members bring tons of mulch to spread on the play areas. I appreciate the level of care people bring to this spot. Last but not least, tennis balls a plenty abound! I came one day and there had to be at least 100 balls scattered about and bags full for owners to take home. My dogo was spoiled that day! Favorite dog park hands down. I'll be bummed if and when we have to move away. Can't beat the...
Read moreBEWARE of old man in photo and his aggressive dog.
I was told by a couple people at this park to be careful of aggressive dogs and their owners. I was shocked because most owners I had met were very friendly and got along great for the most part with all the other dogs. Occasionally one doggie got out of line and their owners would apologize and real them back in. Unfortunately, not this gentleman. While my pup was trotting around the park, his German Shepherd aggressively chased, and nipped at my dog that kept trying to bounce away (as he always does). However, when the gentleman started talking to me, he warned me to keep my dog back from his. I was shocked.
Sadly, this seems to be something the gentleman does to compensate for his aggressive dog. PLEASE be careful - during our brief interaction, something felt off about his mental state and he made me very worried about coming back to this park. Note: He also seems to have a boxer, which I saw chasing and nipping at other dogs...
