Sitting in the stadium seats have very bad acoustics as the 10-50Hz dominates and shakes overpoweringly such that you can hear nothing else but crushing and distorted bass, drowning-out the vocals or anything else. I suspect the poor audio balance because subwoofers or woofers are pointed in a way that the sweet-spots bounce off the domed ceiling resulting in planet-destroying distorted rumble. The house-speakers therefore are poorly set-up. Ideally, you need to sit down in the "lounge-pit" area where things are quite good, or right at where the sound-guy for the house speakers sits dead-center. Some improved effort needs to be done to sit in all 4 corners of the seating to line-up everything otherwise it sounds like you're inside the trunk of a 1991 Honda Civic with dual 4000 watt, 22" subs at volume 11 of 10, muted and muffled and extra-bass-y. Band should have used their own amps. I've been many times and bands like Jefferson Airplane used their own and it was great at any seat. If the owner(s) adjusted the speaker placement or direction it would help immensely. Went to go see Archives, a Rush cover-band and it was unbearable and we had to leave after 3 songs and couldn't hear anything but 10-50hz frequency only. Just a bad setup by the house-speakers and domed room planetarium design. Seeing the cover band Archives at other venues in Colorado we did not have that problem whatsoever. The Broadmoor World Arena and the Pikes Peak Center also do not have this problem whether you sit up-front or in the back. On a positive note, it's a pleasant atmosphere and sitting down-low has a late 1930's Hollywood lounge feel. Drink selection is lower-to-mid grade offerings at a reasonable price; basic stuff. The food is above-average bar-type with some creativity. Open seating is casual and it's nice they have an older-style medium-resolution projector for band background visual...
Read moreI like this theater and have attended several different events. They have good quality entertainment for the price here and they have good sound equipment and good seating options. What bothers me is that they say seating is all general admission and the best seats are taken when the doors open. The doors are supposed to open at 6pm and shows typically start at 7. If it’s cold outside they open earlier without notice. They also reserve seats for special people for whatever reason. They want people there early so they will order food which is not very good. They allow people to save seats for people that may show up later so you see a lot of empty tables that have clothes on them. If you don’t have someone that saves you a seat at 6pm you end up sitting in the upper level theater seats which are cushioned and have cup holders. The last show I went to was advertised as being a dance party but have the dance floor was mostly used for tables so I didn’t get to dance because it was to crowded. The beer and food prices are not bad but the line takes about 10 minutes to get through during busy events. It would be nice if they had a separate line just for beer and wine, but they don’t. The theater is a 30 minute drive for me so I appreciate them ending the shows at 10pm. I look forward to going to future shows and maybe I can figure out how to get a good seat without having to show up at 5:30pm. The neighborhood their in is not the best but I always felt safe in the parking lot. They do allow people to leave an event and come back if needed, so show up early, leave some stuff you don’t care about on a table, go get some real food and then come back to watch the show that starts a...
Read moreHusband and I always enjoyed the friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Until recently. After pointing out that people without handicap tags were parked in the faded spots. Owner got defensive. Husband parked wheelchair van a block away. City said owner had to put up signs because paint faded or is covered by snow. Next trip. Signs up(thank you) but no wheel chair van spot. Owner was rude and snapped that signs were up. Then came and found us (me in wheelchair*not difficult) to accuse us of not buying tickets. Husband showed her receipt. No apology. Night was ruined, couldn't relax. Used to be so friendly. Don't know what struggles but do not feel comfortable there anymore. Sad about this cause we bring friends and family. One of our friends witnessed this rude behavior and was saddened by it. Knowing I wasn't asking for anything more than ADA guidelines be followed. I'd like an apology but feel not likely. 😢 ♿🎶🎸🎻🎼🎵for lack of concern about...
