So there is a person on here, complaining about how they were turned away from Parking for disabled people. I wish that black sheep had more Accessible parking but unfortunately, it is first come first serve. Or you can call ahead and have the accessible parking held for you. This is what I do. The security guys are the most helpful people I have met at a concert venue. Thatâs why this comment needs a bit more of explaining. I also was at the Joy show, and I took the only accessible parking spot that was open. They held it for me because they knew I was coming. I just moved back to the Springs from a three year hiatus in Spain to study at the Berklee College Of Music. I have a traumatic brain injury from a car wreck 17 years ago, which leaves me completely paralyzed on my right side. I have come a long ways since the doctors thought I had a spinal injury because I flew 35 feet out of a car and landed headfirst on the guard rail. When they found me I was dead. So every moment I get to be on this earth, I am grateful for and I am especially grateful to the amazing staff and Security at the Black Sheep!
I wish I could talk to that person who left a negative comment because I am ashamed that anybody has had to go through that but then again that is the parking situation and there is nothing that we can do about it. Unfortunately, nobody was really at fault. I have been a disabilities advocate for 15 years and have received rewards for the activism, I have taken part in. Iâve also won awards for a nonprofit organization I started called âA Positive Note,â which teaches children and adults with disabilities the fundamentals of music. Iâve had over 4000 students since I began this program 15 years ago and I would do anything for the people that I have taught in this program.
I am truly sorry for whatever happened, but these security guys have been the most amazing people to me and I would recommend them over and over again to anybody who asked me about them. I canât believe anyone has had a negative experience there compared to all of the experiences that Iâve had, which have been more than positive. I love the venue because it is such a small place and they draw world renowned artist and keep the rates at a fair amount. once again, I canât believe that anyone has had a bad time at the...
Read moreWas not impressed last night at all. There was nothing wrong with the bands. They were amazing. We've been going here for quite some time and have had an awesome time whenever we show up; however, last night was not it. It was definitely an oversold show. It was PACKED with people, and since it was an all-ages show, there were children there, so it made it even more dangerous (for the kids). This is a small venue; everyone was elbow to elbow, not abnormal for here, but what made it difficult was the mosh pit. Don't get me wrong, I love being in a mosh pit once in a while, but there were folks there last night who were extremely aggressive. Those of us standing on the side were being punched. I got gut-punched the first time.. walked it off because it can happen, but then, not even a full minute later, I got punched in my jaw. The parents that brought their kids had to leave because their kids kept being shoved, we brought along our 16-year-old brother, and he was assaulted too, and the dude can't even say sorry. As a spot for the LGBTQ place, this was not it. So many of my friends who showed up last night were being assaulted, and it's hard for us not to take it personally when a lot of them are saying they were also hit one way or another. Not a safe place anymore for sure.
Not to mention, when we first arrived, one staff member (I wish I got his name) was extremely rude. When you first show up they have you take your stuff out of your pockets... As usual, however, when I went to place my stuff down, they "snatched" my stuff out of my hand and slammed it into the container. Not okay...
Also also with it being such a packed show whenever the bands stopped and it was like the intermission part between bands everyone would leave to go outside to smoke. There was absolutely no room for everyone outside. None, It was like The Three Stooges trying to get outside or back inside. If y'all are doing "sold out" shows you need to make sure everyone will have room inside...
Read moreThereâs absolutely NO doubt this place keeps winning âBest ofâ because theyâre the ONLY metal venue in the area. Really no other competition in this category.
Terrible cinder block style âvenueâ! Been here a few times. Parking is extremely limited in the lot so you have to street park and end up walking a long distance if youâre able to find a side street that doesnât have towing signs.Taking an Uber is much easier but just one more expense. Seating is extremely limited. Bathrooms are extremely small & tight, the entire place has a rancid smell of farts plus its VERY hot & stuffy in there.
Seen a few major acts here & itâs always exactly the same thing every time when a major act plays. They absolutely pack this place to capacity if not beyond because moving around is near impossible & itâs completely impossible to not be touched or touching a complete stranger at all times. Stage is hard to see if not impossible to see when youâre stuck back by the bar and youâre on the shorter side. During the Armored Saint/Queensryche show in April 2024 some drunk guy kept on starting fights with random guys for absolutely no reason who eventually got kicked out but then kept on magically showing back up inside! Plus some guy & girl weâre âdoing itâ in the Mens bathroom multiple times who never got kicked out. Yuck! We only noticed this because we were stuck standing by the restrooms due to lack of floor space. Need better security!
Saddest thing is ending up just looking at other peoples backâs most of the time because of how crowded & small this place is & only catch glimpses of the band you PAID TOO SEE!!!
Wonât go back. No reason too regardless of whoâs playing. It wonât be worth the money spent. Whatâs the point?! If all I want to do is listen & smell farts I might as well just stay home put on a record & eat hard...
