If you love to skate (of any kind i.e. skateboard, roller skate or roller blade & whatever else you can think of) then you will love this place or maybe you have kids or grandkids, it doesn't matter...anyone who loves to have fun, try tricks or stunts, get a little crazy or keep it simple, will love this park or this portion of the park. The portion I am speaking of is the skatepark. It contains all kinds of ramp like structures, made of cement though, in which, anyone can try new things on. It's just different from your normal parks, gives kids a place to skate, as well as, the various ramps & such keeps it interesting vs the typical boring same thing. I'm sure it helps keep the kids off the sidewalks, streets & away from businesses which is helpful for many reasons. However, anyone can get hurt if they are not well protected, so, BE SURE YOUR KIDS HAVE ON THEIR PROTECTIVE GEAR! The head should have on some sort of helmet bc, as I previously said, it is cement. What's more important is that children understand why they should wear such! I don't know how many kids I have seen over the years have their gear yet not put it on, so, please explain that though it may not be cool, it can save them from a life they would rather not face. One good fall causing them to hit their head hard enough could change their life forever.. .and though they may be the best skater, they are not the only child skating. This means another child could mess up & cause the accident. My mom once told me "they are called accidents not purposed!" We don't intentionally set out to injure ourselves on purpose. We can't plan for an accident but prevent them the best we know how. Be proactive not reactive on this! It can save a lot of money avoiding the Dr and/or potentially a life! You never know, never say never...so protect your kids and educate them so they WANT to protect themselves. If your unsure how you can do that...comment...I and many others can give advice on such. You can use 1 or everyone's advice until it works...your child should be worth it! I adore all children. God (no disrespect to anyone's beliefs) has just blessed me with an unique ability to be able to relate to them. I've discovered this ability to be extremely useful when needing and getting a child to listen, make the right choices or do what's needed, etc. Let's all help each other out!! United We Stand!! Remember to also, teach your children about "stranger danger" even if they go...
Read moreThis Walmart off of venetucci is my Pharmacy. For the last three or four years I've used them and they're always very polite helpful and I have no insurance so I have one of those discount prescription cards and they made sure that I got the best price about a year I didn't have a card and they suggested it to me and then my prescriptions went down from $270 to $120 but it took them about 45 minutes to get it all set up. I they didn't have to do that for me but they did I truly appreciate it. The pharmacist Miguel and Eric are very helpful and friendly and all the staff it's just as helpful .never once rude or acting like they're in a hurry always have patience whether I'm calling on the phone or I'm in person you are always treated with the best customer service . it is by far the best pharmacy I've ever used. And they have a drive-up so you don't have to go inside to get your medicine now the rest of the Walmart is very similar to most Walmarts in my opinion in the City of Colorado Springs. maybe I have not enough experience with that part of it but the pharmacy is great. They close between 1:30 and 2 for lunch sandwich because it covid-19 they have different hours I believe they close somewhere around 7 and on the weekends maybe earlier so I would call if you're going to be...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised after seeing older reviews. This is a very nice and clean park. It is quite large with many different activity areas. Some are the Skateboard park, tennis courts, ball fields, picnic pavillion, and a small lake.
We have gone back several times for our walking, the trail around the lake is 1.25 miles around. The trail is paved and there are seats, exercise stations, playgrounds, and picnic tables scattered around the perimeter.
There is a paddleboard, kayak, rental concession at one end of the lake. On one of our walks the gentleman that runs the concession took time to talk to us. He was very friendly and informative.
It is not overly crowded, we saw you couples and single parents there with their kids. All ages can be seen walking, jogging, bicycling or along the shore fishing. We saw several fish caught and one fellow asked the person walking in front of us to take a photo, he had quite a stringer of fish.
Their are some signs of age but everything is well maintained. I feel quite safe going there by myself or even with...
