When Earth SpeaksWhen Earth Speaks
It is okay. I guess all the great reviews are about the free concerts. I took my kids during a regular afternoon and it was pretty basic, and more geared for little kids. The spin carousel was the kids favorite, the rock wall was exciting at first but my kids found it too easy. I enjoyed the train when it went by, but it is loud so be prepared to pause or shout your conversation. There are other local things within walking distance which is a plus.

We went to see the cover band Mimic. The park has a nice stage pavilion where the band played. Seating was the surrounding lawn area where we brought our own blankets and lawn chairs. There are restrooms if nature called and food trucks if we were hungry. The band sounded pretty good and the weather held. All-in-all, it was a great time.

Came here for Pickin’ on the Divide. Smallish park with some shade. There’s some street and public parking nearby. Looked to be some playground equipment nearby which I assume was also part of the park. It appeared that there was a bathroom in the back. Several picnic tables spread throughout.

This is a long skinny park right next to the railroad tracks in a nice, quiet neighborhood. I personally love the sound of the big diesel engines & the "song of the railroad" made by steel on steel as the train rolls by. Besides a playground with a Merry Go Round (wow!), it has slides & swings & the usual equipment. The park includes a volleyball court, small covered stage & bathrooms. Monument hosts a few band events here through out the warmer weather months. The stage can also be rented or used for free by school groups (check on this as policies may have changed). Several eating establishments are walking distance...

This park was recently renovated and the new equipment is fun for kids that like climbing, sliding, and spinning or swinging. There's also a small rock climbing feature in the sand pit. They left one section of the old equipment with monkey bars which is the only piece I'd recommend staying away from. The paint is old and worn on the metal bars. It's become jagged and spiky. Definitely not ideal for swinging on. Younger kids who can't reach the bars still often enjoy this little piece with it's tunnel and small slide though.

It also often hosts events...

I went on a day some running event was going on for kids and there had to have been 50+ kids and one parent (I have no kids just happen to have a picnic at the park) gave each individual kid those annoying whistles that come in party packs. That park was lively that day for sure. Good kids having wholesome fun, too loud for some maybe, great space, would go again without the constant whistles every second haha. Not the park's fault just came on a...
