I was at the Columbia Heights library today Thursday September 11th, 2025 for a few hours since 10 am opening and as soon as I left the confines of the private room. The spraying of chemicals to keep me quiet. I was not doing anything wrong ezcept running my mouth about why I had to be sprayed 3 times and then a white female library staff wearing a cream colored skirt that went past her knees and a black shirt sleeved shirt told me to be quiet or leave. Ok sure I left but no before I said screw this damn Anika County library location because look at how discriminatory this library is against the LGBQI community I am not gay but you target me like I am. I am done and I walked out and went to the bathroom and then out the door m. By the way ask the female library staff person why she walked she walked out with a undercover Minneapolis police officer and then went outside threw the spray away and then both individuals came back into the library separately and acted like nothing happened.. oh but that prompted me to bolt. Minneapolis police everybody were responsible for using a Baton on me 65 times on September 6rh, 2025 and then lying about it saying nothing happened. Oh yeah then why did a CAT Scan say I had bleeding on my brain at a hospital . So you tell where the retaliation is coming from Columbia Heights library and Minneapolis police. You thought you could have you reaction, attention, excitement and adventure all day everyday and this day is one of them. By the way Minneapolis police why did you have to have 2 individuals watching at the 40th, and Central bus stop iniedervto grtvactraning session out of me with the watches..Get over yourselves Columbia Heights library and Minneapolis...
Read moreIf you live anywhere near Columbia Heights, MN... this is a wonderful library. It has a great selection of books, plentiful conference/private rooms, helpful staff, and it is very spacious and clean.
I needed to print some materials and, after asking for assistance, was shown how to do it. It was a fairly easy process and cost effective if you don't usually print a lot of things (10 cents for B n W copies).
There is a nice fireplace located in the center of the library. I love the layout of this building and how comfortable it feels. Every staff member I interacted with was kind and knowledgeable. They did everything they could to help me out. One staff member showed me how to download the Libby app to check out books online as well as audio books. She walked me through every step and asked questions along the way to make sure I knew how to do something.
I went around 10:30 am on a weekday (they open at 10:00 am every day. So it was still pretty quiet as school isn't out yet. This is a great place to go whether you're by yourself or taking your family. They have a play area in the back for kids as well as a great selection of children's books.
What's also nice about this library is the simplicity... it's spacious but not overwhelming. It has elements of color and design, but it doesn't distract you from sitting and reading or walking through the aisles.
The city and residents of Columbia Heights should be very proud of this library and the amazing staff they have working there who are serving our community!
It is definitely worth going and exploring this treasure of literature...
Read moreWonderful staff!! ❤ I stopped by to make copies and didn't realize that you need to make appointments right now as its a soft open since COVID-19. Lucky for me, nobody was using the copier at the time and a wonderfully helpful staff member let me in and informed me that if I'd like, I could just scan the papers to send via email for free instead of pay for copies! Yay! Winning all around 😁 Great location, nice, comfortable library with wonderful staff...what more...
