I know this is long but I urge you, for your own safety to read it alI the way to the end I only give this place (I refuse to call it a hospital) 1 star because there is no zero option. My extremely bad experience started in the ambulance where I suffered an asthma attack triggered by the experience that put me in that ambulance to. Begin with. I was being transported for exterme full body spasms that left me unable to even control my arms, or neck. Before we made it a mile from my home I was told and I quote " you might as well stop because there isn't anything that's going to help you now" apparently I was faking because when I finally arrived at destination I was unceremoniously dumped in a wheelchair where the same paramedic whispered to ... someone that I was just a junkie looking for a fix. I do not do drugs and they were told as much before I was ever taken from my home, I assure you I don't even LOOK like a junkie that would be "tweaking" I was then left to sit in the waiting room alone still unable to control my body for 30 to 45 minutes with prisoners, real drug addicts, homeless people, that were eying my jewelry, until my husband arrived. They didn't even know where I was! It wasn't until he arrived that I was even triaged at which time a needle was placed in my arm for blood draws and IV, which I didn't get. I was denied any form of hydration for more than 4 hours, even though I was sitting there literally dripping with sweat, while sitting there, for 5 hours I was ran into no less than 4 times by staff moving other people around, not so much as an "excuse me" from them. In the 4th hour a man came in threatening to cut open some lesions on his face and spray his "infectious bodily fluids" all over anyone near him, and pointed directly at me not 2 feet behind him. The person at the desk replied " go ahead, I don't care"!! Immediately after the 2nd man of the night was surrounded by police I stopped a nurse and told her to take the needle out of my arm because I was going home, I didn't feel safe there. She goes to the computer, I presume to check me out when suddenly there was a bed assigned to me, only when we got through the ER doors we were stopped because someone else had been put in that bed! Again I told her to take the needle out because I was leaving, only, then, the one that stopped us said she could move him because she didn't know why he was there in the first place! Once I got in the room I was literally followed in by someone carrying a bottle of water for me. To shorten things I had a total of 15 minutes "care" in more than 8 hours. I was given 2 valum and sent home, gald from sitting in a broken down, vynal wheelchair, in sweat soaked clothes for 5 hours! The trash can in my room was full of trash covered in other people's bodily fluids, the bathroom trash was overflowing, the staff was rude, inattentive, reckless, and antagonistic to people who seriously didn't need provoked. For your own safety I advise you go somewhere else for medical care because you aren't going to...
Read moreI was charged 5k INSURED for the wrong treatment, had to go back to my doctor due to being treated incorrectly and was in terrible conditions. To sit in a hallway without talking to a doctor for hours on end they want 5k apparently! I guess it's 1k per hour even with insurance to be treated wrong just to get you out of the ER. Take yourself somewhere better that doesn't respond with I think.... Every time you ask a question. Very concerning. No privacy either it's really disturbing.. I've never seen a hospital this disorganized in my life. Awful place zero stars..... They give no privacy, you have to watch everything happening to people in a UNSTERILE ENVIRONMENT. If you want to watch this hospital charge you 4500 and change plus a 200 bill on the side to sit in a hallway with no help for 5 hours, forgotten , with your own piss and no one blink an eye remembering you but owe thousands go here. It's cheaper to die than come to this unfit hospital with lazy staff that doesn't do their job or care about people. It's the worst hospital I have ever stepped foot in within the state of Missouri and should not even exist. I understand it's a university hospital but you can't charge people prices like that with such a low standard for health , patients and everyone's wellbeing. This place is an absolute joke I would never recommend anyone to go. Id rather drive 2 hours to Saint Louis than ever stop here. Yeah sure there's no care for miles that was my exact issue. But I would have been better off never coming here. I could have waited 1 week for my doctor and not be in pain because of being treated wrong. The fact I was treated for something I don't even have???? Instead of fixing the issue is absolutely ridiculous. Just don't go here even insured they will charge you thousands for the wrong treatment, no help for hours and poor care. Honestly I'd rather die than come here... Much more reasonable than care from people that aren't even doctors yet. Children that are learning and for such a prestigious school they have no money for their healthcare facility and treat you like a steaming pile of dog poop. Zero stars if I could... I suppose my bill will fund the university. I don't see any other reason to charge anyone that much for nurses that hangout laughing not caring for patients actually ignoring them.. sitting in a hallway with your own piss forgotten the nurse forgetting she even gave you the test you have to remind her and give her your sample even though you are the patient being treated? There's no privacy. You'll have to watch everyone in rooms physically suffer and smell them. Id rather die than come here ever. Legitimately. It's much more reasonable than this horror show. This is not a real hospital. I never would recommend this place to anyone even on their death bed. Go somewhere else you will at least get better care of you go anywhere else but here. Update: it costs $2733 to bring yourself and sit in a hallway with your own piss forgotten...
Read moreFirst I would like to state the treatment I received while in the hospital was a five star experience. My complaint is with customer service after I was released from the hospital. I was in the hospital from January 03 2016 through February 12, 2016 and still gravely ill upon release to the point I could not care for myself or return to my home or attend to my affairs. Once my health improve to the point that I could handle some phone calls to handle my own business affairs I realized that some of the bills were turned over to Accounts Management Service which is a collection service. I contacted them and made payment arrangements which I kept. However just recently I checked my credit report a learned that I have 14 collections against my report all from their collection agency. I then contacted the collection agency and they stated they are instructed by the hospital to report invoice numbers as separate accounts although both the hospital and the collection agency stated I do have one account number. I then contacted the hospital customer service this department handles billing. I was told by the supervisor that they send one file over to collections and have no control over how they choose to report to the credit bureau. All I am asking is for the accounts to be under one account since they all stem from the same hospital visit. Although I was in the hospital January 2016 my account shows delinquent as January 2016 and turned over to collections May 2016. Both companies are claiming they do not have control over how the account is being reported to the credit bureaus. I filed a complaint against the collection agency and this was their response "MESSAGE FROM BUSINESS: Consumer has been in contact with our office. Consumer has spoken with Trent, Manager. The client maintains the accounts are separate. The client is reviewing and will advise as to the final ruling." which is untrue because I filed the complaint after I was told there was nothing they could do to help me. Now I will file a complaint against the hospital and wait to see if they will blame the collection agency for the reporting to the credit bureau. The bottom line is this hospital cares nothing about you once you are no longer a patient. It so disheartening to realize that the same hospital that worked so hard to save your life has no compaction once you are no longer in their care. My illness altered my life forever and now the hospital wants to destroy my financial life. Please take this as a cautionary tale if you ever have to be a patient at...
