Being new to the area, I was so excited to attend church service in person for the first time as I have recently started watching online. I have a toddler and It’s advertised as having a section for families with little ones to sit if you prefer them to worship with you so I felt more welcome. I didn’t feel comfortable with him going to the nursery just yet and I know he wouldn’t be either being that it was our first time there. My child was talking a little before preaching even started good, and an usher came over and said that the recording was picking up his voice and if he continues they would have to ask me to leave. I then proceeded to pull out his iPad to find something for him to watch and not even 2 minutes later she came back and said “we will have to ask you to leave” and proceeded to “sshh” my child. He wasn’t crying, yelling or screaming just being a toddler and talking. I didn’t even have an opportunity to give him some entertainment before she came back and basically kicked us out. Now, I do understand how kids can be disruptions to others in church and I’m fully aware that if he was, to take him out, but he was just TALKING. One of the main reasons why I have been hesitant to go to church is because I didn’t want to disturb others and well, I guess I did just that. In my opinion, I think background noise can be edited out of a recording. It’s sad that church has become such a production these days that the care for the actual people is gone. If you have a small child, and you want them to worship with you, I’d recommend finding another church that will accept them or just...
Read moreI really liked the pastor online but not as much in person. The church is very crowded and the parking is a nightmare. If you attend park at the strip mall across the street and walk! They definitely need a bigger church and parking space. The music is good. Most people stand almost the whole service so it is hard to see the stage. Mostly it's African-American kids in their 20's. As a white person, I have been drawn to many so called black churches but didn't feel welcome due to "nasty" stares of honestly black women. I would like to see more caucasians attending churches with black pastors. I only saw 3 other white people. I didn't feel comfortable there, to be honest. I don't understand why churches don't try to appeal to all groups of people instead of a small group. I didn't particularly feel welcome or that I had anything i common with the others. The preachers emphasizes teen unwed pregnancy a few times. I don't if I will go back, I didn't feel a sense of belonging there whatsoever. The preacher just went on a rant rather than really teaching from the Bible, which I...
