Disappointing Takeout Experience at Longhorn Steakhouse on Decker Boulevard
As we embarked on our wedding anniversary weekend, we decided to forgo the kitchen duties and indulge in a sumptuous meal from Longhorn Steakhouse on Decker Boulevard. While initially tempted by the nearby Chinese restaurant's allure, the sizzle of steaks won us over.
Longhorn Steakhouse has been a go-to for us due to its consistent service and excellent food quality during previous dine-in experiences. However, this time, opting for takeout proved to be a different tale.
Upon arrival just before the designated pickup time, we were met with a bustling restaurant—a testament to its popularity. We provided our vehicle details and selected a pickup bay, only to find ourselves waiting for our order amidst a sea of parked cars. After a brief delay, I had to venture inside to inquire about our meal's status—a hiccup in an otherwise smooth process.
While both the ribeye and NY strip steaks were cooked to perfection, I couldn't help but notice the diminutive size of the ribeye, seemingly 25% smaller than what we anticipated. Moreover, the accompaniments—rice and French fries—were scant, leaving us questioning if there was a supply shortage.
The disappointment continued as we unpacked our sides. The "loaded" potatoes arrived with a mere smattering of toppings, barely filling half a condiment cup for each. The portion sizes of the honey wheat bread and Caesar salad were a far cry from what we had become accustomed to during dine-in experiences, resembling portions more suited for elementary school lunches.
Given the total cost exceeding $90, our expectations were understandably high, yet unfortunately unmet. While credit is due for the impeccably cooked steaks, the overall value for money fell short. We anticipated a lavish feast to commemorate our special occasion but were left wanting.
In conclusion, while Longhorn Steakhouse has consistently delivered on flavor and service in the past, this takeout experience fell below expectations. Hopefully, this serves as constructive feedback for them to reassess their takeout offerings and ensure a more satisfying experience for...
Read moreThis was such a horrendous experience. We hadn't even ordered drinks and were already noticing how flustered the ladies across from us seemed. We got to talking with them on how horrible everything had been for them thus far but little did I know that would end up being the case for my boyfriend and I , the table behind us AND the woman who ended up coming in later and eating alone. The sisters eating together had issues with everything. She sent her lamb chops back twice. She bit into one and it was still PINK. They got the waitress who gets the manager and then they asked her what temp that time. She goes well I said medium the first time and that was raw. So let's do well done. 10 mins or so later they're bringing back the "well done" lamb only for her to yet again attempt to eat it and it still be pink. She started saying she was feeling ill and then said it's probably because she specifically requested NO bacon on her baked potato and low and behold they brought it out with bacon. She'd eaten a few bites before getting to some and realized it. Said she hasn't eaten pork in years. Hence the nausea. The manager came to check on them again, and the sister essentially just said it's fine. Im just done trying to eat. They got the check and let me tell you they still charged her for the entire meal. She was defeated but didn't even fight it. The couple in front of us had ordered steaks and ended up sending them back because the kitchen didn't cook them as ordered. The table behind us was frustrated with the waitress who forgot umteen times to bring them bread or the correct drinks. Overheard their frustrations. The lady who ate solo and showed up later called the manager over because her entire plate of food was just cold.
Then there's us. I was so off put by our waitress finally coming to the table because she didn't introduce herself she just walked up and said "yes". We ordered and then my steak came out wrong. Way too rare. Ended up sending back. So unprofessional. This is true story too. We ultimately decided that we are on hiatus coming here for now because it was altogether stressful and...
Read moreThis was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at any restaurant. We came in for my husband's birthday. Just a simple party of four. We were told that the wait for 35-45 mins. No problem. About 10 minutes later, we are texted and told our table is ready. Great! Here is where the trouble begins. The hostess goes to seat us, but the table We were going to someone was already sitting there. She takes us all the way back to the front, just to bring us one table back from where we were going in the first place. Next, we sat at out table about 18 minutes before I finally got up to find a manager. Now there were two waitresses who had tables in our general area. Neither of them came by. So the manager gets our drinks and then one of the waitresses who had overlooked us since we sat down came to wait on us. She brought us some bread and took our orders. Our appetizer come out and they are fine. Our salads have no dressing on them. We sit and wait for her to come back to the table, but nothing. So we eat the salads as is, and then our food comes out. I am not sure if the kitchen was rushing because we had waited, but it was unnecessary. My sons burger was not done all the way. He stated he was full, so we decided to just recook his at home. My husband and I both ordered the Lamb Chops, that are prepared medium. Before we could cut them open, we noticed the blood leaking out of them. Once we cut them they were barely cooked at all. More of a rare than anything. So we wait another 15 mins before the waitress comes back to the table. She takes out plates and about 2 minutes later she bring them back. They are still not cooked correctly and blood is all in the mashed potatoes. We were done at this point. Waited another 20 minutes to get our check, only received one refill of drinks during the entire time we were there, and was completely ignored. This is the worst experience ever. A complete waste of...
