This was my first and counted for last time visiting Dave’s. I ordered online, 2 regular 6 inch beef Phillies. I received a text that stated my order was ready for pick up at 5:28p. I arrived to Dave’s about 5:32pm. I saw my bag with my name on it sitting next to the girl at the register. In front of her, was somebody’s grandma and grandpa who had absolutely no idea what they wanted to order. The girl was going back and forth with them, ringing things for them up and then they’d change their mind and start completely over. And while I understand catering to Gran and Gramps and giving them a little more grace, would it have killed her to be courteous and efficient to the rest of us? By the time Grandma and Grandpa were done, there was a line of about 5 of us. Not once did the girl acknowledge any of us or even ask us if anyone was picking up an order. I was right after the couple and then when they moved out of line, the girl TURNED AWAY from us and began bagging items for other people’s to go orders. I finally get my order at 5:48. 20 minutes after it was ready and 16 minutes after I arrived to pick up an online order. I might as well have taken my sweet time like Gram and Gramps. Maybe I would’ve gotten better service and fresher food. Finally get home and the sandwiches been sitting so long in the foil that it’s become one with the bread. Eating a bite of sandwich and tin foil. The sandwiches themselves were dry despite us getting mayo and ketchup. The meat lacked seasoning and the chain Amoroso rolls they use are not Philadelphia authentic. Advice? Save your time (because online ordering is a joke), save your courteousness (because you’re not going to get it back from staff at the restaurant) and most importantly, save your money. $25 for the service and quality of this...
Read more1st time going to "Big Dave's Cheesesteak" in Columbia SC on Harden St -Truth be told when I heard about them and look them up the internet I was extremely 😳 about the prices, period. I eventually tried them and was pleasantly surprised 😮 I ordered 1 Reg Beef, 1 Reg Beef DW, 1 Beef Eggroll, and a Banana 🍌 Pudding and when I say the taste of everything Did Not Disappoint 😋, it didn't...One of the Cheesesteak I didn't get Cheese Wiz on it because I was skeptical but after I tasted both subs, Listen 👂🏼you must get Cheese Wiz on them because the taste is 10 times better and more Flavorful 😲 Yes😱 - The eggroll was delicious and the Banana Pudding 🍮 was very light, not too sweet 🤌🏽mmm mmm good! I had an issue, I contacted management and they swiftly took care of it immediately and sincerely apologize, rectify the situation - they are on top of their stuff, Love it ❤️🔥 The only Con - I can state is on the menu under eggroll on the picture it shows two eggrolls, although it states (1) in the description but it can be deceiving. For the price of $5.99 you should receive 2 eggrolls, just saying.... The restaurant decor is nice and upstate, cool, I love how Dave pops out the wall holding the Cheesesteak. It's pretty small inside, more of a place where you place your order to go, not sit down and eat although they have tables and chairs for you to eat in but most of the people ordering take those unfortunately. But overall 5 🌟 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would Highly Recommend trying if you...
Read moreI had the chance to try the Philly steak and cheese along with the salmon egg rolls, and both were memorable in their own ways.
The Philly steak and cheese was hearty and comforting. The steak was tender and seasoned well, paired with melted cheese that gave each bite that classic creamy richness. The bread was fresh, soft on the inside with just enough crisp on the outside to hold everything together without getting soggy. It had that perfect balance of meat, cheese, and bread that makes a Philly worth craving.
The salmon egg rolls were a pleasant surprise. Crispy on the outside, they had just the right crunch when bitten into. The salmon filling was flavorful and not too heavy, with a nice balance between the fish and the seasonings. They came with a dipping sauce that complemented them perfectly, bringing a tangy kick that elevated the flavor.
Overall, the meal was filling, flavorful, and offered a good mix of traditional comfort food and a creative twist. The Philly delivered classic satisfaction, while the salmon egg rolls added a unique, standout touch. I’d definitely recommend trying both together if you want a mix of familiar...
