FuruSato Bento is awesome! We travel to Japan every couple of years, and it was so nice to find this shop and be reminded of our travels.
The store is set up very similar to a convenience store in Japan (conbini). They have Japanese snacks, drinks, even a microwave to heat up the refrigerated food if needed. There are also some seats outside to sit and eat, giving it a very relaxed atmosphere.
And of course they have bento's. I can't stress enough how affordable and delicious they were.
On the day I went to Furu Sato, there were no bento on display or out on a shelf or in the fridge in a grab'n'go form (which is pretty common in train stations and shops in Japan). Instead they were made to order and fresh, which was perfect for me. I ordered 2 bento's and 2 onigiri, all of which were delicious. These were under $10 each for the bento's and about $2.75 for the onigiri I believe. Well worth the price.
The lady who worked there was extremely nice and let me use my broken Japanese with her.
I highly recommend FuruSato! Great food, cute shop, and the people who operate the store...

There are 2 microwaves and an hot water dispenser for convenience store side dishes you may pick up in addition to your take out food. Our bento's were made fresh and this was an absolute treat! 🍱🍙
The tako yaki, katsudon, Amagari don, and Miso Saba bento were delicious! I lived in Japan for 11 years and this has to be one of the best if not the best Japanese mom and pop style convenience stores on the East Coast...
Read moreI absolutely love this place! I went to Japan about a year ago and this store reminds me so much of the konbinis there. It's probably the closest you'll get to an auethentic Japanese convenience store here in Columbia! From the push-to-activate sliding door, to the politeness of the staff, to the incredible meals and snack selection; it almost felt like a miniature portal into a FamilyMart/Lawson/7-Eleven in Tokyo. Every time I go I make sure to snag some salmon onigiri and the Tonkatsu bento box.
When I'm in Columbia, this is always a place I...
