These fine experts gave me the best massage of my life at a low cost! It was wonderful, intense and made my entire body feel better. I had heard of endorphins making you feel good from massage, but had never actually experienced it. I'm a writer and cannot articulate enough how masterful they are. Their treatment is sublime.
I explained that I have a torn labrum in my shoulder and have a bar with 7 pins in my ankle. They were mindful of these injuries and attended to my needs. I asked for a whole body massage.
First, I was taken into a room with a bed that heated and rolled under my neck, shoulders, entire back, rear and spine. This took maybe half an hour. I thought that perhaps this was going to be the entire experience and would have been happy with it. I was wondering where they bought the bed and dreamed of buying one for my home.
Next, a man came and kindly escorted me to another room. There was soft music and waterfall sounds I could hear. I was told to lay face down. This wonderful gentleman put fantastic strength, agility and gentleness into his work. He worked extensively on my neck, shoulders, back, thighs, calves and feet. He thoroughly loosened toughened, aching muscles that I hadn't realized were even that sore and applied techniques I had never experienced before. Somehow my sinuses actually opened up near the end of his treatment. He was an incredibly diligent masseuse of great strength who masterfully applied just the right amount of power in so many ways.
I felt so incredibly thankful and knew it was the best massage I had ever had after he worked for about a half an hour. I would have been absolutely delighted if that had been all and fully expected that it was over!
Next, they laid hot stones on the bed and had another amazing masseuse come in to work on me. He laid a bag of hot stones on my chest that felt so good. He also placed a warm cloth over my face. He expertly maneuvered my legs and arms. He worked my forearms in a way that made my fingers curl as a reflex. He stretched me in many directions. He pressed into achy muscles in the back of my neck and jaw. He massaged my head. He massaged, stretched and worked brilliantly for nearly 30 minutes.
Everything in my body felt so much better! I felt giddy from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. He told me that I was welcome to lay there with my hot stones for another 10 minutes.
I am so thankful! I had these gentlemen call the owner so that I could personally thank her for the best massage of my life and tipped $20 despite the fact that I'm poor. The owner was gracious and offered to work on me personally next time to explain to me about my body.
I am a bit sore on the next morning, but this is good as my body feels so much better all over. I intend to stretch and take a hot bath. I look forward to going back any time possible.
This massage cost $60 and there is a $10 mandatory tip. It was worth more than every penny with a $20 tip! Do not be fooled. Massage Envy provides novices who do extremely little in comparison at a much greater cost from my experience. I had an excellent massage in New York City that cannot compare with the depth and breadth of what they provided. I had another excellent massage at Columbus State from a student that could not compare. I paid an expensive amount to send someone to Kenneth's and was told that their work could not compare with my "magic hands." I have personally spent hundreds of hours massaging and know that I am a novice in comparison to the treatment that they provided me.
These last couple weeks have been some of the worst days of my life outside of this exquisite experience. My wife left me and took my beloved daughter among many other wretched experiences. I needed this so much. Everyone truly needs this in their life. I am a fan of this fine establishment for life. I cannot say enough good to enough people. Thank you! Thank you! A thousand times, thank you! May God bless and prosper this business and all their employees...
Read moreUnique experience. I went on a suggestion of a friend because I was having some issues with tightness in my lower back. I arrived 10 minutes early and was the first appointment for the day. Instructions are vague but I was put in a room and told to change into shirt/shorts provided and I was ready for my appointment to start on time. Moon left me to attend to a phone call. She also needed to change her clothes as well so my appointment started 15 minutes late. I received about a 40 minute deep tissue massage. I was not told I would be walked on. Your face will get smashed into the face hole in the table! It’s not padded very well. Because my appointment started late when the next person arrived for their scheduled appointment Moon had to stop my massage to tend to the other person. She had me lay on warm rocks while she dealt with the other person. She returned to me and moved me off the table to a massage chair. She said she would give me an extra 15 minutes of massage for my next visit (I hadn’t made a second appointment) as she lead me to a massage chair for a 40 minute chair massage. It’s rather awkward because the chair is placed right next to the front entrance so you’re on display when anyone walks thru the front door. My session was finished so I was lead to a changing booth by the steam room. I changed and my wife had prepaid by card so I walked towards the door. Moon wasn’t in view so I figured she was with another client. She popped up out of nowhere as I started to exit. She asked if I made another appointment. I said, “not yet”. I turned to leave and she said, “you leave tip” and pointed to a $10 minimum tip (hand written) sign above her cash register. I had to go out to my car to retrieve cash. I don’t like being guilted into a tip. She did loosen my back which was the reason I went. About a week later I tried the experience again thinking Moon maybe being 15 minutes behind schedule to start my previous massage may have knocked her off her rhythm. I was the first appointment again on the day of my second visit. I arrived early to get my clothes changed so I was on time to start and this time Moon was ready. She started my massage on time but was constantly using the phone. I kept hearing bells and tones. As my massage is being performed I feel something brush against my elbow. I turn my head a little bit and there is a young man mopping the floor in the room and Moon is giving instructions to him while performing my massage. This time I did receive a full hour of massage but not the additional time as promised from my previous visit . Moon was trying to deal with 4 other patrons at that moment and seemed to be rushed. She put me in another room for my stone treatment and I spent more time in the massage chair. I was again guilted into another $10 tip for this visit. I’ve had other massage and physical therapy treatments - during these previous experiences the therapist was more attentive to the person on the table and the therapist was not distracted by other obligations during my appointment. I’m not saying Moon performed a bad massage but it wasn’t the experience I anticipated. I was hoping for a more relaxed atmosphere and a situation where I didn’t feel like I was being pushed down a massage customer assembly line. If you’re anticipating a tranquil spa experience this won’t be it. If you’re anticipating one on one contact without distractions from your therapist during your massage, this isn’t it either. If you want a deep tissue massage that consists of someone walking on you, will hurt like heck, but will most likely relieve your issues if Moon has enough time to perform your massage - you will probably have a more positive...
Read moreDespite what the other higher rated reviews says, please read this one first and foremost. I will then state why this establishment received a one star review.
THIS IS NOT YOUR STANDARD MASSAGE! It is not the standard massage you see on t.v and movies where it looks relaxing. These people use deep tissue massaging, which 99% of the time means they use very aggressive methods to get the job done. For most who understand what that entails it is great, but for those may have sensitive backs, bodies, or low tolerances for pain, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Their advertisement is horrible in the sense that they do not mention the fact that they are very aggressive. The motto "No Pain No Gain" is not a reliable way to elaborate how deep the messages are. Their website does not state this. Their advertisement does not state this. And when my gf went in, they did not state this at all. I do not know all of the staff but I know that when it comes to...
The Staff (male) are not comforting at all. The only staff that were in tonight were all male. I state this because these men didn't have a sense of building customer rapport or communication. There was no clarification and no information was diverged about how things were going to go. She went in, received clothes to change into (which was once again, was not stated that she had to do before she paid for the service), waited until 2 men came into do the service. Not once did they state what they were going to do before or during which made her very uncomfortable. Which refer to my first and second point. The fact that this is not your generally understood style of massage and the fact that there is no information given made her experience a horrible one. They walked on her back without permission, did not state what, how, and why they would do in the massage as well as what they would use, and when she stated that she was in intense pain and didn't feel comfortable they just said "No Pain no Gain" and continued without any understanding of the situation. She had to state that she had surgery on her arm before they actually listened to her and not do any service on her arm.
LASTLY, the fact that they do not mention a MANDATORY $10 TIP until AFTER THE SERVICE proves they have no sense communication with their first time customers. That is insane to not include that in the price. If you want mandatory tips, it would be at least wise to state this ANY WHERE ON THE WEBSITE, STORE, OR IN PERSON!
Overall, her customer experience was extremely horrible. Even if their service concerning the deep tissue massage has been considered great, the experience given to costumers who do not know this company's methods will have a hard time. And the fact that they request a mandatory tip without given this knowledge to the customer in any shape or form is a horrible way to...
