Card Castle Games — Attraction in Columbus

First off, Card Castle Games is probably fine for MTG and their wide selection of board games at seemingly reasonable prices, but I’m here for Pokemon.

I purchased a Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box from them for $110, which I was on the fence about, but it was the first PE ETB I’ve seen out in the wild. At the time the prices on eBay were the same or above.

Last Thursday they had Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection boxes on the shelves with a sign stating they would go on sale Friday for $250. Walked out, figured I’ll take my chances for MSRP pricing on Friday.

This weekend, I opened that ETB I bought from them at $110 and got a single Dipplin Master Ball as the only hit besides the promo card. Look, I get that PE has terrible hit rates. What are we doing when card stores are selling at scalper prices? Surely they’re getting insane margins for those products at those rates. It’s disappointing, and because of this I can’t recommend coming here...

Bought singles from them a couple times. The employees are nice and they have a decent selection of product, but the way they operate is frustrating.

Ordered a handful of cards and my order confirmation told me to come into the store to pick them up ASAP or they may not be able to hold the cards, and you may not receive your order.

But when I went in the next day I was told they didn't have my order. I was told that their owner delivers the orders whenever he comes into the shop and that they can't actually keep their inventory, and because of this they have no idea when my order will be able to be picked up.

This makes no sense to me. Waiting for an order isn't an issue at all, but why would you place a sense of urgency on your customer to come pickup their order (even saying they might not get it if they don't act quick) only for them to not be prepared themselves to serve their customer. It's really disappointing because the rest of the store...

I was traveling through Columbus and decided to stop and check the store out. Was pleasantly surprised at their selection and prices. I purchased a commander deck and some booster packs for MTG while there. Once I got home to Pittsburgh, I realized that I was accidentally rang up for the wrong price on one of my items and the response was amazing! They very quickly responded to my email and offered a refund or to send some MTG cards to equate the value. I went with the cards and received them very quickly. I was truly amazed at how they handled the situation and really went above and beyond my expectations with how they made this right.
