I'm really upset now, and I've lost my patience due to what those ignorant people did to me.
I had booked a study room for 11 am and informed the front desk that I was taking a proctored exam, which could last up to 4 hours. They provided me with a quiet room as we know all proctor exams require silence. That’s why I chose to come to my neighborhood library. However, around 1:40, someone near the door made a loud noise. Unfortunately, I couldn’t look around because any deviation from exam rules could result in the exam being stopped, and everything I had worked on for the past 3 hours would be invalidated.
By 2:30, a rude lady slammed the door, which disrupted my external camera setup and caused it to fall to the floor, breaking it. I requested a brief 5-minute pause so I could contact my proctor and inform them about the issue. However, she started yelling at me despite seeing that I was in the middle of a proctored exam. I tried to remain calm, but two security personnel arrived and placed their hands on me while I was attempting to resolve the situation and...
Read moreThe Columbus Metropolitan Library - Linden Branch was renovated and expanded back in 2015. The expansion more than doubled the size of the library, which has led to more programs and services for those in the community. The library has upwards of 20 computers that can be used free of charge, several shelves worth of books and other reading materials, and study areas. Whenever I have visited the Linden branch, it has always been full of young children and adolescents. Many of them talk loudly and occasionally run around. This, however, does not bother me, as I prefer to see the kids in my community safe and laughing inside of a library. Staff members are kind and courteous and provide a safe environment for kids and adults, that enable them to learn and work. My only suggestions are that the library obtain a greater number and wider variety of books, as well as additional quiet/study rooms. Hopefully, the City of Columbus can make that happen by investing more time and funding into the...
Read moreFirst visit and I encountered the nicest staff. The kids in front of me lost their library cards and the lady assisting them was so kind and polite with them. You could hear the genuineness in her voice. What a delight to hear.
I got my card and was interested in the culture pass and the lady assisting me was just as friendly and helpful.
This is a beautiful addition and plenty of books available. It was nice to see folks waiting to get in - and a line at the counter.
It's fresh, new and filled with computers and technology to support the functional library space. Plenty of parking and an easy drive through pick up compliment...
