I was looking for a change of pace after the workouts at my old gym (non-CrossFit) were getting stale and monotonous, so my roommate recommended joining her for a free class at this gym (first class was free). I thought that I was in pretty decent shape before, but this was a very humbling experience. 2 months later I’m addicted to this place, attending 4x/week and seeing simultaneous strength gains and weight loss (15 pounds so far).
Although this has been my first experience with CrossFit and I can’t speak to other gyms, I could not be happier with Buckeye Strength. All of the coaches are absolutely amazing and knowledgeable, taking the time to go over each exercise with me and offer pointers. The gym also offers a variety of challenges that keep me on track. My husband and son have also joined this gym and they love it as...
Read moreI am not the average cross-fitter. I am above average. I started at CrossFit Scioto close to their opening date. I am 58.5 years old. I hadn't really exercised since, well, ever. I was pretty active, but not with anything organized. It was/is hard! Really hard. Sore for 3 months hard. The coaches at Scioto scaled everything for me in the beginning. This way I was successful in mind and body. The community of athletes is as encouraging as the coaches are. It really keeps me attending classes and in the mind set that I can keep improving my fitness. I'll likely never compete in a CrossFit competition but I will stay active and play well with my grand children and teach them...
